LOL. I ate a few while I was there. I was drunk at the time. How do you make out with a chicken farm? I am thinking of doing something similar in Thailand.

I could never get that drunk. Any time my brother in law asks me if I want to try it I just say "Maybe tomorrow"

Most of the riots in Manila are due to the Government over there. The President has people upset over fixing the election and shooting water into crowds of people at prayer rally's. She also wants a dictatorship there. Also some people are upset because the US Embassy won't release 4 US Military men accused of raping a women under Philippines control. I'm sure it's one of those things. I think opinions here are funny, because most are people that don't have fiancee's in the Philippines. Better read more newspapers.

Ahh, balut. 'Nuff said. <shudder> I'll eat 'most anything, but there ARE some places I draw the line.

I'm quite happy to give up the fish...parts as well, but am looking forward to goat again. I'm still trying to figure out why everyone was so amazed I ate rice, though.

Regarding the rioting... Well, conditions bite over there when there's really no reason for it to, what with all the businesses and foreign money getting pumped into the economy. Add into the mix a sense of helplessness, resentment, and fatalism regarding crime, corruption and the economy, toss in a match like protecting rapists, and something's gonna blow.

Of course, if they'd riot against things they can control, it would be more effective. I mean, over twenty people sitting around watching a mugging--by five guys with knives, one of whom is bleeding on the ground already--doing nothing, then going home to ###### about the crime rate...? Some people just gotta learn to pick their fights.
