So im patiently waiting for my detroit office to issue my work authorization and AOS which we filed back in early april....

Now the bad news. We got a Request for additional evidence on the I-485.

A- (1 & 2) Submit evidence that an immigrant visa petition has been filed on your behalf. Such evidence includes a copy of the I-797 Notice of Action on Form I-129F (Petition for alien fiance), Form I-130 (petition for alien relative), or form I-360 (petition for amerasian, widow(er) or special immigrant), and/or a copy of form I-171 (notice of approval from the consular office).

Aagghhhh what anger and frustration at the pointlessness of this request, i mean surely they realise i have a visa? There was a photocopy of it from my passport in the evidence i submitted. Also they were the ones that sent me the letters in the first place! Dont they have records? Dont they talk to other departments? Is the whole system insane?

Anyway my question is, Has anyone had this before? What did they send back exactly?

I have found my I-797 from the initial form I-129F form, but im not sure what the I-171 form is?

I have the letter from the london embassey when they gave me an interview date, i have the letter from the london embassy when they said they are beginning to process my fiance visa case and to get my medical and i have the letter from the london embassy informing they have recieved a approved visa petition on my behalf.

Yet none of these are labeled I-171 or have the official looking american stamp thing on the top, they are just letters straight from the london embassy.

Does anyone know what this letter is? Do you think i should just photocopy all of those letters from the london embassy and hope they believe that?

Oh and happy memorial day..... :(

I don't really know what is a notice of approval from the embassy, but I would assume you can just resend the NOA's u received and another copy of his passport stampw/US visa. You could also maybe try calling and asking them what is the letter from the London embassy that they need. Also u may want to give them another copy of his I-94 he received from the POE when entering US. Hope this helps you. If not u can also ask some other VJ member that dealt with the London Embassy if they received any such thing from that embassy.

You should read the form's instructions they really can be helpful.

I-485 Page 4

Evidence of eligibility.

Based on admission as the K-1 fiancé(e) of a U. S.citizen and subsequent marriage to that citizen.

Attach a copy of the fiancé(e) petition approval notice, a copy of your marriage certificate and your Form 1-94

Yep, you need to send a copy of your NOA2.

Any information I post is based upon my personal experience only. I am not a lawyer.

Thanks for the advice....

And moving on from the fact we somehow blatently missed the instruction to mail in the NOA2, does anyone know what the I-171 (notice of approval from the consulor office) form is?

I only remember getting the actual visa, not a letter of approval with it. I do have the letters from the embassy giving my interview date and telling me they are starting to process my visa, but is this enough do you think?

At the moment my RFE that ive prepared to send back includes copies of my NOA2, these embassy letters, my k1 visa and my i-94.

Is this enough does anyone think?

Oh and does anyone have the american visa type people hotline number? I might check with them...

Thanks again.

It says "and/or" you are giving your NOA2 so you don't need to submit that I171 whatever it is.

The NOA2 should be enough.
