He doesn't have a beard and wear a turban. Really some of you libruls ask the most stupid questions.

duh, sorry. ;)

i love this line from wiki:

"He is now a professor in the College of Education at the University of Illinois at Chicago, holding the titles of Distinguished Professor of Education and Senior University Scholar."

interesting position for a "terrorist".

Weeeeeell Charles... good catch. The FBI handles incoming applications for them from law enforcement as well as politicians.

Military secret clearance is something else.

investigating someone and granting the clearance is two different things, as you know. he was even lumping ltc north into that fbi clearance bit.

Sure. Nobody's perfect and he will get around to noticing his mistake on that bit of semantics.

We can look at it like climbing a ladder. Before you reach the top rungs, you have to step on the lower ones. An SSBI is only one kind of check.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

If the rules surrounding high level security clearance routinely don't apply to elected officials, its a complete non-issue to apply them to Obama.

Would McCain be granted one due to his association with the Keating 5 scandal?

Would Sarah Palin be granted one due to her husbands membership in that Alaskan separatist political party?

Former terrorist.

I'm old enough to remember the Weather Underground and some of the ####### they pulled. It was nasty. Don't let anybody kid you into thinking that what Ayers and other Weather members did was anything less than domestic terrorism.

Ayers eventually turned himself into authorities. Charges where dropped. You can think whatever you like about this - prosecutorial incompetence; investigative bungling - whatever.

I'm an Obama supporter, but that doesn't mean Ayers gets a free pass from me.

However, it's over and done and that's that. The Patriot Act cut loose law enforcement to go after terrorists by hook or by crook. If there was anything to be 'had' on Bill Ayers to connect him to present threats to our society, the authorities have had plenty of time and plenty of leeway to uncover it.

Which is why bringing up ridiculous gossip is not good politics. We can see that even within the Republican party base that's getting really sick of issues that don't exist as centerpieces of their own campaign.

that is my point really, it is over with and now he's a respected professor at a university. i don't condone terrorism, domestic or otherwise, but trying to make links to obama for something that happened a long time ago is just silly.

Sorry RJ, I was being facetious for the sake of showing how ridiculous the OP's premise is but sometimes these things have unforeseen repercussions.

A terrorist is a terrorist is a terrorist. Domestic or otherwise.

It's an inflammatory word. It plays nicely to those who are concerned about Obama's first, last and especially middle name; about his paternal grandfather having been a Muslim; about his time in Djakarta.

The Right has virtually forgotten about Ayers, about the Murrah building and other domestic acts of terrorism. They have a new 'poster child' now and it's anybody of Middle Eastern descent or appearance. They've only raised the spectre of Ayers because it suited their agenda.

imagine that. we've had problems in the uk with the ira in the past but that was usually kept quiet then referring to more recent terrorism issues. it is all about agenda.
