AOS as in adjustment of staus in Singapore? No that won't happen........

AOS as in Affidavit of Support in Singapore? No, based on what you said, I don't think that will happen...

Maybe you do not understand what AOS is....

You may get your visa issued in Singapore but all preliminary paper work for an immigrant visa is done by NVC and the affidavit of support is submitted there. If you arrive as an immigrant no adjustment of status is required.

sorry.

I am a noob in this so I am asking here.

So where will the AOS be done if I have to go through the singapore consulate?

How long does it usually take?

will it be faster because I am going through the singaporean consulate?

Thank you for your time.

if you arrive as a permanent resident via an immigrant visa there is NO adjustment of status required.

Thank you for the quick reply.

my appologies, maybe my question is not clear.

my parent partitioned for my green card in 2001

assuming my piority date is now current.

I understand I have to do an AOS to apply for my Green Card

If I have to do my AOS application through the Singapore consulate

How lone will the AOS application take?

is there any website with data on this?

for the fourth time, there is NO ADJUSTMENT OF STATUS for your situation....

You will be interviewed at the Singapore consulate for a VISA...

After entry, you will receive you greencard AUTOMATICALLY....

YMMV

You understanding is INCORRECT.

In the consulate you will get a visa for entry to the US.

After the entry you will AUTOMATICALLY receive GC.

NO AOS is necessary in your case.

AOS from B-2

08/05/08 I-485 filed

02/03/09 CGC received

12/09/10 I-751 filed

04/07/11 GC received

11/1/11 N-400 filed

02/24/12 USC

thank you for the very quick reply.

do you know how long does the interviewing process take?

once my piority date becomes current, do I need to do anything to initiate the interviewing process? Or will I be informed automatically?

I take it that after the 'successful' interview, I will enter the USA and get my greencard at the customs?

I read on the internet about a 'background' check

do I need to go through a background check in any of this?

The petitioner will be contacted by NVC (National Visa Center) here in the US to do ALL preliminary paperwork... Once an interview is schedule in Singapore (BY NVC), you will be interviewed.............. Background checks are performed in the petition and preliminary process before the interview
