Good Day!

My husband just arrived here in the US under K3 visa. I filed I-130 for him while I was still an immigrant in 2005. I recently became a US Citizen and opted to go to K3 route. Now, my husband is with me. What do we need to do next? Contact USCIS to expedite I-130 then apply for AOS? or file AOS directly? When can he apply for SSN?

An approved I-130 petition is a requirement in applying for AOS for K-3. There must be an enough time to wait for NOA2. Besides, K-3 is valid in two years from date of POE. As for SSN, it is required for him to have a work permit (or EAD) first. You can file it adjacent to AOS (free), or file separately ($340.00). It is your call. For now call USCIS, and inquire about the status of your I-130.

I-130 is not required to be approved in order to apply for AOS. You can file I-485 (Application for Adjustment of Status) / I-765 (Application for Employment Authorization document) with the receipt notice of I-130. You can go ahead and apply for these in order to get at least your file moving towards a green card. Also, your husband doesn't need Advance Parole to go out or in to US as he already has a K-3 visa and you can even extend it right before it expires.
