Ya, ya... I know Im getting ahead of myself. lol

Any of you guys who went through Amman; Im very curious to know if you guys were put through AP and for how long?

My husband hears horror stories of course, but we also have heard of quick, easy interviews with visas being received quickly.

I'd just like to hear from anyone with personal experience.

Thanks guys!

Lisa

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

We went thru amman almost 3 years ago and was in AP for 10 days. They wanted proof of my name being changed to my married name, which i had done. I don't know why they wanted that, as it should not have been an issue in my opinion. But i had done that, sent the proof over to my husband and then was given the visa after review of it. Easy interview we thought.

Good Luck!

We went thru Amman in NOV 2005.

Interview Date :2005-11-21 Visa Received :2005-11-30US Entry :2005-12-10

Embassy Review :He went in for his interview and waited for what seemed like forever. The lady was very nice and asked many questions...

Who are her parents

Does she have a child

What is the child's name

Does the child know about you

How do you keep in contact with the child

What do her parents do for a living

What is your wife's maiden name

Why did she get divorced

How did you meet her

When was she in Jordan

What did you do when she was here

How long was she here for

What does she do for a living

How long has she held this job

What are your plans after you arrive in the USA

Why doesn't she come to Jordan

After the questioning, they gave him the 221g for more proof of a valid relationship. They told him to come back on any Tuesday to submit the aforementioned information.

It was not a bad interview at all.

3 to 5 days later he provided our remaining proof and was called within a couple days to come get his visa.

From interview date to visa issue date was 19 days. kicking.gif

Visited Jordan-December 2004

Interview-December 2005

Visa approved-December 2005, 1 week later after supplying "more information"

Arrived U.S.A.-December 2005

Removed Conditions-September 2008

Divorced in December 2013

Thanks! We're hoping for the same results since his name isnt all that common either :)

I forgot about that 'more proof' #######. .........maybe I should have him save a few things and not bring to the interview..like some of my name change papers and a few photos.

What did Noor bring as 'more proof' ???

jax

vj1.0 14 day AP ;)

vj2.0 hoping for same day visa!

he took proof of daily conversations via yahoo. Since we talked sometimes 17 hours a day, we did a lot of cropping. He took more than 700 pages of daily conversations lol ... we figured, you want more proof...HERE YA GO!!! They looked at him and laughed. We're fairly sure they just threw it away and got on the visa issuance lol.

Hi Lisa,

My husband interview 5-10-07 and had his visa in hand 5-24-07. His first/last name isn't too common, but he also served on the police force for a year and i don't know if that helped to speed it up or not (limit the time the needed to spend on background??? I'm speculating). All in all the average is under a month - there are some/few exceptions.

Best,

1st K-1 Journey:

June 2005 - filed

October 2005 - visa interview

March 2006 - AOS packet mailed

DIVORCED

June 2007 - Interview

2008 - 10 year approval

--------

2nd K-1 Journey:

07/28/07 - AOS paperwork mailed

07/30/07 - Received at lockbox

09/18/07 - Biometrics

10/15/07 - Transferred to CSC

01/09/08 - AOS approved w/o interivew

11/01/09 - Lift conditions

11/01/10 - interview to lift conditions/10-yr card

01/01/10 - 10 year approval

DIVORCED
