Worries about bringing jewelries

Hi guys !!!!!!!!

I have one more question to ask

Is there any limit or prohibition in bringing jewelries ????????

Cause i had a friend that said you have too wear all your jewelries

to avoid the custom and pay the taxes ?????

I just wanna ask if this is true ??????

Cause i love jewelries and a have a few collections

and i cant wear all of them......

I'll be a walking pawnshop if i do

And i don't have any receipt,

cause these jewelries have been with me for a long time

Any advice will be appreciated !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i think it is ok to carry jewelries, i will also have collections of it and i will bring them with me.

i think u only have to pay taxes on jewlery that u r using for gifts. personal jewery is urs only. im not sure.

You don't have to worry about your jewellery. But keep it with you in your carry-on.... don't pack it in your luggage.... just in case it gets lost or stolen. This link should help you answer all your questions:

Don't worry, they wont charge you taxes for your jewelries for personal use but, be sure to have it in your carry-on...I'll have mine in my carry-on too but of course, my hubby wants me to wear the ones he gave, hehehe...

im sure someone will correct me if im wrong

but the worry about jewelery is only when a usa citizen comes back home after being out of country and has purchased jewelery over seas........when we returned we declared what we had bought over seas.......thanks of God we didnt have to pay any customs on it cuz it was not worth over the amount that a usa citizen can purchase with out fear of paying when u hit the usa.............if ur moving here or visiting here and its ur own jewelery and not a gift for someone no problem.......

but take it as ur carry on luggage gets lost and also when we travel we have at times found items missing from our luggage that is checked dont know what country cuz we never see our luggage until we get to the place we are going so could have been any luggage handler in any of the countries and locked luggage is no protection against theft as we found out..........

when i went to usa i brought my jewelry box with me on my carry on...when i went back to the philippines i also brought it with me on my carry on..just keep it close to you somebody might steal it. i also did not pay any taxes.
