IR1 interview

Can anyone give me their thoughts on this??

My husband interviewed in Caracas for his IR1 visa on September 18th. They told him nothing was missing from his documentation but that his case would be held for "administrative processing". We were instructed to e-mail the Embassy in one week to get the status. We sent the e-mail in one week and they responded with several forms attached for him to fill out, namely the DS156 and DS158. These forms are for the non-immigrant visa??? When I e-mailed the Embassy again questioning this, I was told these forms are needed. Does anyone know if the Embassy would issue a non-immigrant visa instead of the IR1 that we have processed through the NVC? My husband and I have been married almost three years and own a house together here in the States. I'm so confused as to why these forms are required. ANY thoughts would be helpful as I've run out of ideas:)

My thoughts exactly! We are going to follow their instructions but I imagine this error will just drag out the process even longer. We are at the mercy of the Consulate :) We have a follow up appointment on 10/17....we'll see what they say then.
