What is next?

What do we do to get a SSN?

Do we really get a green card when she gets here?

If she checked the DS 230 for a SSN she'll get both the 2 year GC and a SS card in the mail shortly after arrival.

Was the SSN box checked on the DS-230? If so then SSN card should arrive in the mail sometime after entry to the USA, if it does not arrive within 3 or 4 weeks, then visit SSA and order another card.

It may be faster but is is really a personal choice... will your spouse need it quickly?

I received a new DS-230 (Part II) with my package 4.

My question is, do I have to fill it up exactly like what I did previously? This is because I read that it's faster to go to the SS office to get the SSN card.

If you have the option, try the DS-230. Going to the Social Security office is not necessarily faster. Normally, people wait a few weeks before applying and then it takes a week to receive the card. So wait 3 weeks, if you don't receive your SSN card go into an SSA office to see what's the problem.

If the DS-230 doesn't work and you go into the office to apply, you have only lost a week. If the DS-230 works you will have your SSN and card within 3 weeks and saved yourself a trip to an SSA office.
