Hey guys, I need your help!!!

I bought this beautiful wedding dress here in Germany as my fiancé and I are just going through K1.

I don't want to take the dress with me but would rather send it prior to my arrival.

Does anyone of you have experience in this?

How did you send it (DHL, UPS, FEDEX)? Did you have to pay additional custom taxes? Or maybe did you have to declare it in advance? Is there anything else to consider? Does anybody know the import restrictions on that??

Please help, I need this gown! :-)

We used DHL/Deautsche Post : You have to declare what is inside (on the packing slip) and I would definitely pay for insurance and for shipping by air (versus by ship). Can't think of a single thing we paid customs taxes on. :thumbs:

Thank you!! Hopefully that will then be the case for me too! :rolleyes:

I just got so confused with all that info online.

I read some different things on what to put on the customs information. Did you declare it as a gift? Anything else I need to really be aware of?

Anybody else having had experience with mailing a dress?
