EXCELLENT!

hello fellow October filers of the CSC!

I just sent my i-129f on the 17th (certified, priority). it arrived at Laguna Niguel at 11:03am on Oct. 20th. They cashed the check on the 21st and it cleared my bank today, the 23rd :D I've never been so happy to spend that much money on some papers being looked over by someone. ha.

No receipt number was on the back of the check (another way to find out before getting your NOA1). A bunch of other numbers were...but not what was needed to check up on this. So I guess we will have to wait a couple of days for it. I really hope this is a quick process...just gotta be patient.

Anyone starting to do any other forms right now?? Does anyone think I should start working on the Affidavit of Support yet, or would it be too soon....because that looks like its going to be the biggest pain in the butt to me. My parents are going to be sponsoring my fiance (since i JUST started my new job in september and i think i make just at what you need to make to support someone but i dont want to get denied or have this process take longer so my parents said they would do it.) so would i just pick one parent to do the sponsoring or would both of them fill out the forms? If its just one parent, I am going to use my dad to sponsor my fiance because my dad has been at his job since he was like 20 years old and has been with the same bank since the 70s and is part of the union and has dependents.....so i think he would be a great sponsor. I'm not sure when everyone is starting the next steps...but now im glad i can ask you all :)

Here is to the fun journey and, most likely, the never ending questions :-D

Hi Kristine, welcome aboard!!

I had actually started the other paperwork before I mailed in the first part! I was waiting on the stuff from my other half and could go no further with the petition, and I was getting antsy waiting, so I headed to the embassy page to find out what they wanted and began downloading and filling in the information for the next step. He's not good with paperwork anyways, so it was just as well that I do it all, minus the signature and dates! I've pretty much got our package assembled now and ready to go, so as soon as we get our packet three we can immediately turn around and ask for our interview date.

My mother is co-sponsoring and she's already started assembling her information. I'm not worried about it being too far ahead of time unless our case is extended much longer than average. If it is, I'll just have things updated, but I'm gonna think positive and not worry about it for now!

Good luck to you!

Yea I started gathering all the forms together before I really knew what to exactly do with everything and the proper steps. Either way, I am filing out everything....even the stuff that is my fiances part. He is also no good at forms. I have typed up in a email exactly what he needs to write in each spot for the forms he needs to send and then he will do it all and then send it to me with signatures and dates. One problem I found was that I guess the paper in the UK is a different size, or he just used a akward size, ha. The paper he sent me was narrower and longer...so I had to go to a paperstore and slice the pages down.

Well then I guess I will start filing out the future forms with stuff that we already know. I needed a nice break after putting together that i-129f packet. That was stressful.

So are you sponsoring him and your mom is co-sponsoring him too? I read that you are allowed to have 2 sponsors, but I just wanted to make sure. Should I also just be a sponsor and have my dad co-sponsor us?

Thanks for everyones help. This is going to be a VERY helpful room :)

Yeah, the paper in Australia is the same, I think it's called A4 or something like that? Anyways, I doubt it will be a big deal to anyone, I didn't bother cutting it shorter or anything, just slid it in where it belonged in the package and mailed it off :)

I am sponsoring him as I am the petitioner, but I'm a full time student living off my financial aid for the time being so my mother is really his sponsor as far as the financial side of it goes. If you make enough to meet the poverty guidelines then I wouldn't worry about getting a co-sponsor, but if it's close or you don't at all, then you'll definitely need one. I'm so thankful my parent's are around to give me a hand, I would have been devastated knowing it would be several more years before I would have a job and be able to sponsor him myself! Yay for heavy duty majors :P Just gotta keep reminding myself that all this trouble now will pay off in the end :)

Good luck to you!

Hi. I'm joining in to play the waiting game!

I sent my package via priority mail on Oct 15th. I received my receipt oct 21st. So we wait now...

I129F mailed Oct 15th

check cashed: Oct 20th

NOA1 received: Oct 21st

One question though...when it says my case should be ajudicated March 3 - March 10th what does this mean? I'm doing my best to understand all this stuff. I want to make sure that I do it correctly.

I'm confused. I sent my package too priority on the 17th and they cashed my check on the 20th and it cleared my bank on the 23rd. i havent gotten anything from them regarding a receipt. i received my certified green card back (they were supposed to sign it so i have record that it got there, but all they did was put a stamp that said 'uscis received 10-21-08'. it seems that a lot of other people that sent their packages to the csc are getting their noa1's real quick but i have not gotten anything from them. i really hope this isn't going to be a huge waiting game like it looks like its going to be so far.

You an check with your bank for them to look at the back of the check, your case number should be stamped behind it.

there is nothing on the back of the check. there is numbers, but it is not the case/receipt number because that is supposed to be 10-13 letters long with a 'eac' before it

i did call my bank tho--and they said that they see what i see (because they scan in my cashed checks onto my account...so i am able to view the check)

Oh, wow! This thread has really exploded in the time I've been absent [which I apologize for! I had some things offline that had to be taken care of]. I just want to say "Welcome" to all the people just joining the waiting game, and "Congratulations" to those who are receiving their NOA1s or are having their checks cashed.

Skparker -- The receipt number should begin with "WAC" if you're filing with the CSC, and should have a series of numbers that goes like ##-###-#####. If the bank can't find it, either, I'm sure the hard-copy is only a few days away. :) Hoping it comes tomorrow.

Also, I don't think it's too early to start gathering everything together for the next part of the process. I fully intend on starting it after my fiance's next visit in December. Taking a short break now, after spending such a long time filling out paperwork and gathering evidence together. :P

The only doom that's looming is you loving me to death,

So I'll give you a sec to catch your breath.

Well we received the hard copy of the NOA1 today in the mail  Me and my fiance were so excited that this is actually happening. The WAC number was never on the check....but of course now we have it on the NOA1 :)

I intend to start getting together all of the affidavit of support stuff and things that he is going to need and to start organizing all the originals of the evidence we sent in....but like you i want to take a break because putting together that petition was so exhausting with all that evidence.

I suppose we all must push on and hope for a quick NOA2
