kenneme - Definitely call them. Hopefully, it's just taking a long time to get to you, rather than something more serious.. like them having lost it in the mail or something like that. But definitely call to find out, because you'd hate to find yourself in a position where you get the interview date only to find out that it was a week ago. :/ I hope you get some good news soon.

our update is....we finished the i-129f. got approved. my now husband flew in 3-26-09...same day we both moved into our apartment (i didnt stay one night there until he moved here). we got married the 18th of april and went on a weekend honeymoon to myrtle beach, sc. (which was just beautiful except for the horrible sun burns we got in only 70s+ degree weather! im still pealing til this day!!!! so serious. ha

Congratulations on your wedding and new apartment, Kristine! :D I totally know what you mean about sunburns - I get burned quite easily, too. I hope the peeling stops soon, though, that's just a pain to deal with. :/ I'm glad to hear that things are working out so well for both of you. Good luck with the AOS process.

Ita - I'm glad to see that you had a safe flight and that you're finally with your fiance. :D When are you two going to get married?

As for me -- TamTu had his interview on the 14th. Despite all his preparation, he forgot his birth certificate. They did interview him, though, and he said that the guy was very nice, but asked few questions. "So who is this lovely lady? So, you've met before? How did you propose?" And I swear, there was something about my birthday in there, too, but.. he did propose on my birthday, so that may be what I'm thinking about, lol.

Anyway, they issued him a 221(g), requesting his birth certificate. He sent it to them and they called him today, saying that he didn't sign something, so he has to come back and sign it before they can officially approve him. So close, but so far. We'll get there, though. :)

The only doom that's looming is you loving me to death,

So I'll give you a sec to catch your breath.

Just to give an update..

He mailed back his birth certificate and, a few days later, they called him to let him know that they'd received it. They also said that they would gladly approve him, but they forgot to ask him to sign something.. so he had to go back. He went back, signed everything and triple checked to make sure there was absolutely nothing else for him to do, and they told him they were going to expedite the passport back to him.

Yesterday evening, he received it in the mail! We're approved AND we have the visa in hand. Hurray!

I hope everyone is doing well.

That's great lazulineiris

Hopefully he will fly here soon.

For us, Cindy arrived last weekend. We are taking a couple of weeks break from the paperwork, but plan to do the AOS package before the end of June.

cooo cooo!

Anyone still checking this forum?

Well, I have a question - we sent Packet 3 in over three weeks ago and haven't heard anything from the embassy about packet 4/interview. Should I be getting nervous? Should I call them?

Thanks,

Megan

Magan, call or email the embassy.

spikeyflip, you out of AP yet ?

Hi guys ^_^

Sorry been busy with our department restructure...all of us running around like headless chickens

Ed: She is already out of AP, and she's done with medical. Her interview is on the 18th =)

Congrats skparker !!

:dance::dance::star: Yay! we finally got the interview date from the embassy in Paris yesterday!

Ugh, it has been such a long stressful wait! Here in Paris you cannot talk to anyone on the phone and you can't go there either to get any information either. I emailed once at the begining of June and they called me back (so that was somewhat reassuring, but still not really clear - she told me I had to send a letter saying I still intend to marry, and I said "isn't that one of the forms to bring to the interview?" and she didn't really seem to know - kind of disconcerting!) I followed up with an email senidng them the fiancée letter of intent (just in case!) and resending the "readiness for appointment" form and a letter from the place we hope to host our wedding giving the date etc. They didn't respond

We heard nothing for a long time, and I was just about to give up and call my congressman (we had reached the 10 week mark since sending in pack 3, which is pretty much the outlying limit for setting an appointment date). R emailed the embassy one last time on Friday and yesterday/Wednesday he finally got the packet 4 letter!! The interview is July 22! Can't wait!!!

Congratulations to all of you who are already married and living happily ever after  Be thankful for what you've got! That's so great it all worked out.

Anyone have any tips for us for the interview, now that you've been through it?

Best wishes,

Megan

A quick note to report that we we had a successful interview at the US Consulate in Rio on the 30th of June! Gabriella's K1 Visa is in the Express mail right now!:dance::dance:

A few things that stick out in my mind:

1) VJ has everything you need to prepare for a K1 interview - thank you VJ for all your help

2) Several people had used lawyers to prepare for the interview. Each one told horror stories about the lawyers "sleeping" on their papers. I felt that we were more prepared than any of the people we met that used lawyers. IMHO the cost of the lawyer is not worth it.

3) The process is complicated and full of pitfalls. It is a miracle that anyone gets through it. To that Gabriella and I thank God for our miracle!

Good luck to those still in the process.

Wow...this thread is back from the dead !! :P

Update: She passed her interview and she'll be here on July 29th. Point of entry is in San Francisco.

Already moved in to my new digs in San Jose...somewhat far from work but I've been taking Caltrain so no worries hehe. Once she's working we'll be looking for apartments around Mt. View all the way to peninsula but it's in the air until I discuss it with her.

Other than that, I'm counting down the days til I see her again =)

We had our interview here in Paris yesterday. It went really well, but the agent didn't say definitely yes or no! I don't get it... it seems like everyone else got their answer during the interview!

The first person, who took all the papers, arranged the file and everything was very friendly and said everything was in order and looked fine. Then we had the interview and that was quick and fairly straightforward (we'll write a review later) She seemed happy with all the answers and the papers. At the end she said, "normally it is all fine... everything looks good. So unless there is some other issue with the file or with the consul, it should be ok." Does that mean someone else still has to look at it? Could they still say 'no'?!

She kept his passport and the envelope and said normally we should expect it in the mail next week - and explaiend about getting married, what to do at the POE, etc. but she didn't say "approved"! When Rahim asked if he could go ahead and buy his plane tickets, she kind of laughed like "you're in a hurry!" and said it would be better to wait until we have it in hand (of course)... so we were wondering if there is still some chance they would reject it? or if they just prefer to not risk giving you the wrong answer? At the end she smiled and said "Congratulations!" but we left still not sure if we should start celebrating or not! We feel relieved and happy, but not 100% - anybody know anything that might help releive us?

Thanks, and congratulations to everyone else!

Hey there

A similar thing happened to me at my interview at the London Embassy.....

I was missing a document and they couldnt give me an answer, so sent me away saying that when i have it to courier it back with my passport. When i asked if im guaranteed my visa when they have this i was told, it looks likely but they will need to physically see it before they make a decision.

I courired it back to them a few days later and after a nerve racking 10 day wait...had my passport sent back to me...visa inside!!

Im very sure if there were any problems they would have told you at interview....dont worry and good luck!!!
