I'd actually like to start calling and get my congressman, etc involved, since most everyone else with an October NOA1 have been approved, but I know I will get "we are withing our processing time frame" response until I wait 6 months out.

I have the itch too to start calling uscis, my congressman just to see if I'll have any results. We just have to hang in there bro

I decided I will wait 3 more weeks (5 months from NOA1), then I will contact my congressman and also setup an Infopass appointment.

Hopefully something happens to us before then, though.

Was thinking of doing the same thing but around 5 and a half months then I'll be bugging the congressman, senator and uscis. It getting more stressful for me since my fiance's dad has been really antagonizing her

Hey, guys.

Spikeyflip, why is your fiance's father antagonizing her? That's horribly unfair - No one can predict the type of wait that one would have to endure for this. Terrible as this might sound, as I know you are patiently waiting, but this is still "typical" processing time! He needs to be understanding of the situation and know that it's neither your choice, nor hers, to keep waiting like this. What happened to sensitivity? :/ Rawr. Anyway.. I Really hope you hear something soon.

Ed + Cindy - I really hope you two hear something soon. While I totally support the infopass idea, I'm not sure you'll hear much other than "You're still in the 6 month processing time. Please wait another month before contacting us" -- They're real jerks like that. :/ If you decide to go with it, though.. I really hope from the bottom of my heart that you hear something better than that.

Leanna & Erik -- Many, many, maaaany congratulations on your visa! What a quick process that was. I can't begin to imagine the excitement you two are sharing. Best of luck planning everything.

Charles/Gabriella - Congratulations! I hope your interview is soon, and that it goes wonderfully.

As for TamTu and myself --- We don't have an interview date yet. In fact, TamTu has not sent any of his information to the consulate yet, which is mostly my fault. I've yet to send him the I-134 for two reasons: The first being that my father is absolutely going absolutely CRAZY about this whole thing, flipping out over money, getting angry at even the mention of the wedding and just.. ugh. It's not good. So to pacify him, I'm holding off on sending things so that, hopefully, the interview won't be until May or June, that way, TamTu can wait six months to use his Visa, which would give my father ample time to save up more money.

It's not that we can't afford a wedding, it's that.. he likes to spend money. He also told me that he's relying on me to save, too, so.. It's all a bunch of drama, haha. :/

The second reason is that I have had to put together a copy of the I-129F again. The guides advise you to do that, but I sort of forgot about it until now. Oops! I've put it all together, but won't be sending it until next month or so. :/

Things are going quite well, though, otherwise.

I hope this coming week brings nothing but the best of news for those still waiting to hear from USCIS or their respective consulate. <3<3

Thanks for the thoughts. I have dealt a lot with DHS (mostly CBP and TSA) and know they are jerks (and that is being polite).

More and more I think we have been escalated to security checks. USCIS seems to be solidly approving petitions over a month after ours.

My fiance and I have records with CBP that probably triggered something. She was denied entry from Canada to the US (Vancouver POE) last Oct. This was the last part of a round the world trip and we hired a lawyer to try to get her again a second time (with all the correct docs, etc to satisfy them it was only a visit). CBP bypassed all the laws and still denied her and probably put nasty comments in her file. Because of this, I am also harassed by CBP every time I re-enter.

I will wait another month, then start being pushy.

Hi lazulineiris, The medical went fine ... I got my results a couple days later and I passed everything ... Shays package with all the Affidavit of Support forms and documents arrived two days ago and I put everything together for my Pack 3 and mailed it yesterday soo now I have to wait again for an interview date ... Ive checked other Aussies timelines and they seem to get an interview a month from mailing, so cross fingers thats all its going to take for me...

Ive also started gathering all my evidence for the interview, I just need to put together all the phone bills and Im good to go

We really dont want a fancy wedding ... so we have decided to have a simple wedding with just immediate family and a few friends... We both agree we dont want to do the wedding dress/tux deal and have been looking for nice dressy clothes instead... Shay spoke to the minister last week and his happy to do only 3 meetings instead of 6, if he had insisted on 6 we would have gotten married at the courthouse but Shays mother is a christian and would like to see us married by a minister or priest and since shes been soo wonderful and helping us out with all this we felt it was the least we can do and honestly she hasnt been pushy or asked for anything ... Ohh I tell a whopper, she wanted us to get married in Levi's so she wouldnt have to get dressed up ... I said, Ummmm NO but she was kidding ....

We've decided we would like the 2nd of November as our wedding date, 16th if we're pressed for time but Im really not fussed with the 16th and all the other Saturdays arent possible because Shay has work commitments and is unable to take time off ... We are having the wedding at the gardens in Shays town so yesterday he rang and booked them and after the wedding we are having a champaign brunch then off for 5-6 days to Reno and Lake Tahoe with lots of stops along the way, since Ive never been to the States before ... Neither of us are gamblers but the accommodation is cheap! .. We also found our rings and we've ordered them, they should arrive in a week or so ... nothing fancy but we would like to get our names and wedding date engraved on the inside ...

Shay put together the copy of the I-129F and sent it to me, its the size of a manuscript!!! I swear Im going to need an extra suite case just for the paperwork I need to take with me to the interview!!!

trying to wait patiently for our interview.....calling the DOS everyyyy day

wrote a letter to the us embassy in london on the 25th, they received it on the 26th----we said we knew they were busy but wud really appreciate to have our interview scheduled (because our marriage/departure/wedding shower dates are all coming up!).

i called the dos today and they said we are 'eligible for a interview, but one hasnt been scheduled yet'....booo. so fingers crossed we have one by monday because we booked a ticket for march 26th because ticket prices are going to double in the next few days and im having a wedding shower thrown for me on the 28th....so im clearly going

stressing out that we might not make these dates now---but we have had everything next day'd.

I know I'm a bit late, I just realized there is an October filers thread. We got our packet 3 last week, although we got it from Montreal. I live in Vancouver, BC, I had to email them in order to ask them to forward my case to the Vancouver consulate. I have read about people doing this. I still havent heard back from Montreal and am getting a little antzy. Montreal told me in the Packet three that four to six months from this point till my interview, I really hope it doesnt take that long.

received word today that our interview date is MARCH 12, 2009 at 830am!!!!!

finally the LAST step! almost done with all this waiting!!!
