Well, with london, you are supposed to have your medical done before the interview because they need to check out your results as one step of approving you. you will not receive your visa if you dont have it done. you can have your interview before the medical...but it will be more of a pain because you will need to send all the results to the embassy and play the waiting game with them instead of doing it all in person.

packet 3 has a list of medical shots and things your going to need to get done....so you should go and get them done at your regular doctor if its going to not cost you much or anything at all because when you have your medical they will charge you for the shots. packet 4 will tell you that you need to do the medical....but if you have it done already, there is no harm in that. my fiance called the medical place (he found the number on VJ) and out of the two medical places they had him go to the one they could fit him in the quickest...which was about 7 days later, if that. He went and got everything done and they are forwarding all his results today actually....so the embassy better not lose it when they receive it. he got a receipt for the medical...so if anything gets lost he gets it done again for free.

i would suggest looking up your embassy on VJ ----look it up on the 'EMBASSY INFO'....its in white on the top right. and you should be able to find embassy information and it will tell you the address of the embassy and phone, address andphone for the medical...directions....it will have a lot. it will also have peoples expieriences at that embassy.

so call your medical place ASAP when you receive packet 3 and try and just get it done now....if the embassy is too far to be making double trips....send your packet 3, find your interview date and get your medical done a few days before your interview...you NEED TO GIVE THEM TIME to get your results. most likely 24-48 hours.

hope that helps :)

Hi SkParker ... I recieved my pack 3 almost 2 weeks ago and Ive already started gathering everything and had my police check .... My directions was to download the paperwork so apart from the cover letter and letter with required forms I dont really have any other info ... Ive had a look around and tried to read up on all the provided links but a couple things are confusing me eg. form DS 156 has to be typed and printed electronically, there was nothing indicating that on my letter .. thank goodness I did a bit of looking around or I would have submitted it handwritten ...

Yeah The embassy is in another State so I need to be 100% prepared ... Ive looked at the Embassy info but the medical part is confusing me .... The way its worded I take it to mean I make an appointment time for the medical and submit rest of the papers... then I get to the checklist and it indicates I need to provide the results when I send in the DSL-1076 ..

Ive already contacted the medical centre a couple days after I received my pack3 and theyve told me what needles I need .. thankfully not that many because of my age ... the result will be sent to me so I most definately have to have the medical before the interview ... I just need to know if I need to submit the results with the DSL-1076

Sorry but we dont have that form....so im not totally sure on it. my suggestion to you is if you click on forums...and just go into the us embassy consulate thing....scroll all the way down and on the right hand side you will see 'us embassy/consulate discussion' tab and search options (a-z, etc). click on it and you will see a bunch of international forums, south america, united kingdom, russia...etc.... find your embassy and post your question there. everyone from that forum will be submitting there and will know A LOT more about what you need to do. another suggestion is to go to the embassy's website and maybe find a phone number or email to get in touch with them or even be able to find the answers to your questions on that website. usually there is detailed instructions. sometimes if you just search on the internet.... put dsl-1076 & your embassy name that ur filing with and after that put search (so in my case it would e dsl-1076 london instructions'....a lot of ppl have separate websites with help....JUST MAKE SURE--on when that site was edited because several sites have been up for yearrsssss and a lot of that information is WAY outdated.

you can also just search packet 3 your embassy and then instructions. there are several ways to go about finding information. if you need more help, just let me know. and ill personally research it for you :)

Hi we got out NOA2 on Feb 4 and received the hard copy in the mail Feb 10.

How could we know if the NVC received or/and sent our file to the US embassy in Paris?

I think we have to call the 603 number but are we supposed to talk to someone or is it an automated response? ( which we got first and didn't work)

Also are they giving us another file number?

How to get the tracking number to see when our file will be in Paris!

Many questions but many thanks :):):)

Leanna is in town visiting... (L)

"Packet 4" was a phone call on Tuesday (2/10) to make an appointment for the interview...

Got an appointment Wednesday 2/11 :D (They only interviews on Wednesdays here)

We were printing and copying documents till 2am :o

At the Embassy at 10 am, the pre screener wanted the forms (DS-156 and DS-156k, I-134), she almost forgot to ask about proof of ongoing relationship, guess Leanna being there was good enough :D

Another 5 minutes with the CO, and everything was OK, they just needed to receive the medical from the doctors.. :hehe: (had the medical 1/23!!!!, they lost my picture, so I had to send them a new one)

The whole process took about 1 hour, most of it waiting for the CO.

Today at 3 pm we are going to pick up my passport and visa at the Embassy... the best Valentines gift ever!!!!!

Finally we can start planning our life together :D

oh :wow: you dont need that many photos!!! lol

from the time you sent the i-129f petition....gather photos. around 3-5 photos from each trip you have taken. dont take anymore then 20 photos....they will most likely just look at 1 or 2 only. just pick out photos that CLEARLY show you have visited each other.....(ie-me and my fiance took a picture infront of buckingham fountain in chicago and a pic in the Sears Tower...everyone knows those buildings and that architecture there....and in the UK we made sure to take pics infront of old gothic cathedrals and infront of old castles....red telephone booths! ha). pictures with each others families is really good evidence....your engagment party photos...if you have any.

you dont need to go that over the top with the photos tho.....espcially since you have to mark them with the date the pic was taken, where it was taken, and name the ppl in them.

but if you really want to take that many photos, then go for it....but you REALLY dont need that much

just trying to save you money and time :D

oh :wow: you dont need that many photos!!! lol

 Hehehe ... That was a tongue in cheek comment ... I actually did print out 75 pics cost me $18.75 but I wasnt seriously planning to put them all in as evidence ... Im staying with a friend for 5-6 days and she hasnt had a chance to look at them ... Initially I was just going to take a cd for Maryanne to look at but the album is handbag size so it cant hurt to chuck it in ... if they want to look at it, fine if they dont at least I can look at it while I wait it will help calm my nerves...

When Shay submitted the initial I-129F he included a printout of the photos with all the letters from people who spent time with us both ... so we already have sent them off a dozen or more pics with the app .. Im just going to take the originals and a couple more from the same days where we are both in the pic or with a family member or friend... We really do have several hundred pics petting the Koalas, kangaroos etc also pics of us at shopping centres, the markets, if you can think of it we have pics of it .. he even took pics of the macedonian shop keeper because she was nice and spent forever explaining what the different products were used for (his a chef so that stuff is exciting to him :lol: ) ... eventually Ill like to print out most of them but yeah it does get very pricey...
