We received our interview date today! March 24th. WOOO!

congrats!!!

and in reply to us waiting for stuff....we arent waiting for anything on the embassys part. We received our packet 3...i sent my fiance all the forms he needed 2 days ago...says according to the USPS that our package is overseas right now...so he should get everything by monday....but then i found out that if you have a co-sponsor you need their birth certificate and i didnt include that.....so on monday ill be faxing him my dads birth certificate. i really want this stuff to get moving. im beyond impatient with this now and just want it to get over with.

he had his medical in london and everything was fine except they said he didnt get 1 shot (once in 10 years shot) so he told them he wud go to his doctor (instead of paying for them to do it) and he went and got it done at his doctor and they faxed everything to the medical place in london and they sent it to the embassy. So we are slowly getting closer....its just my end thats super slow because i was waiting for other people to get me information i needed for the affadavit

I hope we get packet 4 back quick and get our interview date soooooon.

How is every one else doing right now? where are you in the steps?

so far so good... both my packages to my fiance (for the stuff he needs for packet 3) are enroute in the UK. Will most likely be at his house mon/tuesday. He doesnt want to send the checklist for packet 3 out since he doesnt have everything in hand just incase all the paperwork gets lost and we get a interview and dont have the things we need. he doesnt want to get introuble i suppose. i told him it will be fine but he is sticking to his guns, so i am waiting that the usps goes super fast. So If he gets everything tomorrow he will send packet 3 tomorrow too :) All in all, packet 3 will be sent out in the next few days :-D yippyyy

good luck to everyone else right now!!!

Maybe you can ask the people from the same embassy as you. In my country, they will give Packet 4 after we submit Packet 3 that we will bring to the embassy, not to send by mail. God bless!

Well, with london, you are supposed to have your medical done before the interview because they need to check out your results as one step of approving you. you will not receive your visa if you dont have it done. you can have your interview before the medical...but it will be more of a pain because you will need to send all the results to the embassy and play the waiting game with them instead of doing it all in person.

packet 3 has a list of medical shots and things your going to need to get done....so you should go and get them done at your regular doctor if its going to not cost you much or anything at all because when you have your medical they will charge you for the shots. packet 4 will tell you that you need to do the medical....but if you have it done already, there is no harm in that. my fiance called the medical place (he found the number on VJ) and out of the two medical places they had him go to the one they could fit him in the quickest...which was about 7 days later, if that. He went and got everything done and they are forwarding all his results today actually....so the embassy better not lose it when they receive it. he got a receipt for the medical...so if anything gets lost he gets it done again for free.

i would suggest looking up your embassy on VJ ----look it up on the 'EMBASSY INFO'....its in white on the top right. and you should be able to find embassy information and it will tell you the address of the embassy and phone, address andphone for the medical...directions....it will have a lot. it will also have peoples expieriences at that embassy.

so call your medical place ASAP when you receive packet 3 and try and just get it done now....if the embassy is too far to be making double trips....send your packet 3, find your interview date and get your medical done a few days before your interview...you NEED TO GIVE THEM TIME to get your results. most likely 24-48 hours.

hope that helps :)

Hi cutedolphin ... Actually my fiance filed at the California Service Centre but I have to go to the US Embassy in Sydney ... I had a look at the DSL-1076 form earlier and the only thing that is confusing me is whether I need to do the medical before I submit my pack 3 or wether I wait for pack 4 ...

Its pretty detailed on what you need to submit and in one place it says

Arrange for a medical examination with one of the physicians listed on the

information sheet. You are responsible for the cost of the examination.

examination is also required for each child who will accompany you.

But when you get to the checklist it says only originals required so Im not sure if I need to have the medical before submitting and including the results with the package or whether I go ahead and send the papers and relivant documents now and have the medical anytime between now and when I get pk 4 ...
