To get California's GDP, you need about 15-20 Delawares. Being a business major, and working for a marketing department, as well as a minor in poly-sci, I'm well aware how statistics are used to try to fool people and it won't work on me. :)

The only people 'fooled' by statistics are people who don't quite understand it.

You brag about your liberal arts major and talk up how it makes you an expert in a quantitative discipline like statistics?

Well, aren't you just precious.

Fact: California produces less per person than 8 other states. What this means is the only reason California has a nominal product as large as it does is because it's big. Not because it's especially productive.

Texas is already a Republic....

Kentucky is a Commonwealth, if I'm not mistaken, as is Virginia, Massachusetts, and .... Pennsylvania(?)

Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. ####### coated bastards with ####### filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive bobble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine.

Virginia is a Commonwealth

So they count companies incorporated in Delaware ... yet not located in DE as an enhancement to per capita income ... humm .....

SRVT missed the class on what per capita means though working in a marketing department does make him an expert in fooling the masses with dubious claims. A true master in the art of sophistry.

Because it is not in the top states per capita does not mean it cannot support itself. Again, a country that would be amongst the leaders in the world economically would have no problem whatsoever supporting itself. That would also include other U.S. states, but we're talking about California, which would certainly be above them all. And, again, there's plenty of room in this state for expansion, which means more production, and more GDP, and an increase per capita. The explanation for the per capita GDP in your statistics are either because of earmarks pushing production (Alaska being the largest beneficiary), or because the population density is so high. You can also say that in every large city there's a higher per capita GDP. That means little to nothing. You should have stuck to California keeps taking out more loans than it can afford. That was the best argument yet.

I'd like to see California secede and rejoin Mexico. That would kick ###.

Take away porn and Hollywood and the state has nothing. Unfortunately for them fake blondes, with fake boobs and good old attitude don't generate much wealth. Otherwise they would be trillionaires.

Not Hispanic, but I agree. And I wish California would secede and become the California Republic once again. Let the rest of the U.S. figure things out for themselves instead of holding this state back from economic and social progress.

Crapifornia better know as Douchebagville. You seriously crack me up though. I wouldn't piss on that state.

Look at LAX for a start. Sudan has better airports.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

Broken down by race, the highest percentage agreeing with the right to secede was among Hispanics (43%) and African-Americans (40%). Among white respondents, 17% said states or regions should have the right to peaceably secede.

Anyone care to speculate why?

What is it you didn't like about LAX? I was there three'ish weeks ago on a business trip and saw nothing wrong.

Of course, it's likely your continued uneducated posts. Just yet another conservative rant, sounding bitter and xenophobic about everything your uneducated brain has little understanding of. Why did you bother coming here anyways? It must not be so bad if you left Shitstalia to come here.

Having been to both LAX and Khartoum International Airport, I can tell you, I strongly prefer LAX - even if it IS in California.
