kung ako tatanungin mo.... nagtanim ako ng gulay at flowering plants habang naghihintay ng EAD....and my wife taught me how to sell products over ebay kaya di ako na-bored although I really want to work already.. i also opened my checking account at BANK OF AMERICA..to start building my credits and at the same time practice driving for my driver'slicense. I am dying to get back to work because I was a teacher back in Pasig City. Alam naman ng wife ko na medyo bored ako kaya, we manage to got to theme parks during her vacant days...we have a two-year pass at UNIVERSAL ORLANDO, a year-pass at DISNEY, a year-pass at SEAWORLD & KENNEDY SPACE CTR. In short, taong-husband ako but it's really worth it kasi di naman ako pabigat.

1. Learn how to drive,

2. Enjoy the benefit of "vacation" because once you get a job, you will wish one day that everyday is your day off.

3. Learn how to cook american food.. Remember marriage is compromise, if your husband can eat your food, you have to learn how to cook their food as well.

Surf the net, regarding the information of the city/town you are in.. Know your area, so you can protect yourself..

Hi Completely,

Thanks for the input.

I really don't cook. For compromise, I'm presently enrolled in a short course for international culinary.

Why would a man ever want a woman who can't cook???? This just blows my mind!!!!!!! A womans place in in the kitchen, barefoot and pregant!!!! I'm teasing of course...kind of. A woman who can cook is much better catch then a woman who cant. It's like marrying a man who doesnt want to work. I would say stop hanging out with your friends so much and start learning how to coook from your mom. The fastest way to a man's heart is through the taste buds in his mouth.

I say spend your time learning to cook so you can keep your man....who knows maybe he will find sally home maker down the street who can cook him a apple pie....and in turn he will be cooking something with her!

That was fast!

Got to love the fact my wife was preggy and even with a RFE @ NVC she was still here in under 5 months!

hahaha...as rmncm believes that a woman who can cook is better than one who can not, I strongly believe that you can't force a woman to want to learn how to cook. I came here in the US just knowing how to boil egg and cook rice using a rice cooker. Everyone was telling me to learn how to cook while I was waiting for my visa but I thought I can always buy frozen food or dial delivery. When I got here, my husband never said a word about me learning how to cook..instead, he led by example. He would cook me food and so when he left for work, I started browsing the internet and looking up recipes and surprise him when he gets home. So far, I was able to make kare kare, pancit, adobo, sinigang, spinach and chicken farfalle, chicken parmigiana, steak, honey bbq ribs, and some other yummy dish.

Regarding OP's Q, here's what I did while waiting for EAD:

1. sight seeing on his free time

2. learned how to drive

3. cook

4. chores

5. sell stuff at ebay

6. browsed possible jobs at different job sites so I know where I can apply (I also applied to my first company without an EAD but I was honest with them when they called me in for an interview and asked me how soon can I start and told them I dont have an EAD yet but will be willing to start 2-3 mos from now once i get my EAD. Right after I got my EAD, I called them and they hired me)

7. arranged and rearranged furnitures =P

I'm sure you will find a lot of things to do here.. May times talaga na you will feel bored but just remember, once u start working, u'll be working for the next 30 or so years. SO enjoy your time together and have fun! :)
