After having my I-130 Peitition for an Alien Relative approved, I am preparing the documents required for my spouse's visa interview. I'm trying to figure out how to answer the portion of the I-864 on household income but I'm a bit confused. The document states that those who claim self-employment should have complete with their income tax return "Schedule C (Profit or Loss from Business),Schedule D (Capital Gains), Schedule E (SupplementalIncome or Loss) or Schedule F (Profit or Loss from Farming). You must include each and every Form 1040 Schedule, if any, that you filed with your Federal tax return." I am currently self-employed but this is the first year I've been self-employed, so I never completed these forms. I will be submitting a transcript of my tax return from the the fiscal year 2007, which of itself would be sufficient to show that I meet (or met) 125% of the requirements per poverty guidelines, but not as one self-employed. Will the original tax return transcript alone suffice to show that I meet the income requirements? Should I still claim self-employment, and if so, what if any evidence should I submit to corroborate my claim? Thanks!

You should claim "self employment" as your current income (2008 to date) and submit the transcrpits for previous years. As for verifying current employment income, your best bet is bank statements from this year and a letter from the bank. If your current income exceeds the standards and previous years do also, do not worry.
