The answer is "maybe". It depends on the policies of the interviewing consulate. You could contact this consulate and ask what the situation is.

It may also be worth asking at the appropriate VisaJourney regional forum, where you'll find others that have dealt with the same post.

The initial mystery that attends any journey is: how did the traveller reach his starting point in the first place?

click on the Forums tab

then scroll down to General Discussion

then click on the region you're in and post to that group

also you could post to the embassy group

ask the question giving the specific embassy location where your interview is, not a general question because it depends on the embassy

The Moscow Embassy says a very emphatic NO on their web site.

I assume you have been to the web site where the interview will be, have searched there, and found nothing. Correct? If not, try there because it could have an immediate answer for you.

Then there's alway sending an email to that embassy.

This is from the US Consulate Guangzhou (China) website

Who can come with me to the interview?

In general, adult applicants should be prepared to be interviewed alone, one at a time by a consular officer. Minor children may be accompanied by a guardian adult, and at the consular officer's discretion those needing assistance or escort may be interviewed together with another individual. American citizens may not accompany applicants to the interview, but are welcome to attend our American Citizen Hour every Monday from 3:00 - 4:00 p.m.

The answer for your interview is no.Guanghzou (China)will not allow you to attend the actual interview. You can go and be admitted to the consulate building with your SO, but you can only go as far as the 4th floor and have coffee at starbucks and wait for him. The 5th floor is the interview. You can sneak a quick kiss if you meet him at the washroom as that is a common area, but that would be it and the last time you see him until he is finished and walks down the stairs to see you on the 4th floor.

I think that I would believe what their site sez and not waste your time or money.

I finally got rid of the never ending money drain. I called the plumber, and got the problem fixed. I wish her the best.

Yes, you can go. If they ask for a video as additional evidence, or any other evidence, that would help. But remember that you will not be allowed to present the additional evidence that day. He will need to make another appointment for overcome. At the appointment, the evidence will be turned in and a decision will be made at a later time.
