Worth applying for an EAD?

Hey,

I, K-1 holder and married, am about to apply for my AOS. I am working w/ my K-1+I-94 Combination currently. I MUST continue

working but I just saw that the I-765 fee is another $340! *Are they crazy?*

I reckon that I won't be able to work after my I-94 expires until I hold the GC. Would it cut down waiting time to get an

EAD in advance? (Thus be worth paying that money?)

Thank you for sharing ur experiences!

The cost of the EAD is included in the price of AOS so there is no extra to pay for the EAD. And YES you will no longer be authorized to work after your I-94 expires.

This correct. You don't have to pay the $340 fee for the I-765 because it is included in the $1,010 fee for the AOS. Once your I-94 expires, so does your temp EAD you received at POE and it will take the USCIS at least 3 months to process your EAD application, a bit longer for the actual green card. Meanwhile, you won't be able to work legally in the US.
