Oh that would be so cool! An ex-pat Christmas!!! Maybe one year we can all gt together somewhere and all chip in with the cooking and prep - whoever has the biggest kitchen can host!

You would if you were to follow the correct recommendation and first go out beating the bushes to look for leprechauns. Squeeze them, and they'll give up their pots o' gold, with which you can then buy the booze, and even share it with the leprechauns, si man.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

No way! It has to be a full-on turkey dinner with all the fixins! And a flaming pud! However I will need lots and lots of booze, first, before I will eat that flaming pud. A girl needs to draw the line somewhere.

No way! It has to be a full-on turkey dinner with all the fixins! And a flaming pud! However I will need lots and lots of booze, first, before I will eat that flaming pud. A girl needs to draw the line somewhere.
Try pollo frito -- or, even better (?), cuy. And what is "pud" -- something edible that has been removed (forcibly and unwillingly, one would imagine) from a Liverpudlian? Hopefully not a spotted #######, no man.

Mmmmm I can't wait to get some good Christmas pud!! I am going to have to hunt in World Market as I don't trust myself to make something so sacred!! I like the ones with nuts in though so fingers crossed they have some...

Ohhhh I really want to do this now!!! Can we?!?!?!?! We'll host but can't promise snow - our place is small but we'll figure something out!! We can buy chairs and everything!! :lol:

But I'll make you a promise. If I win the lottery I will fly us all to one place and the ex-pats Christmas celebration is on me. Oh, and that and a girls weekend at my place. I think that would be a hoot.

Hmmmph! On behalf of my WORLD brethren, I declare today "Undismember All Liverpudlians" Day. How cruel and racially insensitive you Brits are, verily man, wot. Is the pud made of liver? This would seem to make sense, si man. What is wrong with (for example) something equally British but less savage, such as hasty pudding? And, regarding "hasty" pudding, how is this superior to (for example) "thorough," "slow," or "considered" pudding? And no one has yet revealed how "pud" differs from "spotted #######," no man. Where does the amount of treacle fit in?

Actually, I once visited Liverpool (New York, outside Syracuse), so that's how I know, si man. And why do Brits so often avoid so many outstandingly germane and good questions from Colonists, huh man? Are you British and not Germane (different parts of Europe)?
