Hello everyone, just sharing information. We received 1st touch on 10/03/08 for our I-130 petition (filed June 08) & we took advice from another VJ member (thanks Desiman) & called to see where we were at in this process.

Spoke to a really pleasant office (although she was not too informative with EXACT info) but she did state the following:

"We have 189 days from today to complete your I-129F & 196 days from today to complete your I-130. That gives you an estimated time frame of April 17 & April 24, 2009 respectively for an approval or request for additional information. I dont project a request for additional information as your applications have been with VSC for awhile now (June & August '08). Now of course these are only estimates and your applications could be approved at anytime between now & then."

For me, it was a relief to hear something vs. the infamous USCIS/VSC silence. Were taking this as a good sign as it looks like were in USCIS time frames & VJ's time lines. Also it gives us more time to prepare for future trips, fees, gather personal items my husband will need for when he comes here and to prepare our home so its as welcoming & comfortable for him as possible.

We hope this info helps others with time frames & hope everyone gets the news they're waiting for!

Blessings ... prince+angel

ok, we filed around the same time as you did. our NOA1 for I-130 is 06/09. we havent had a touch since 06/13. i am hoping that the info above applies to us as well. in which case our application may be approved by april 15. i really hope its sooner. did you not ask them the criteria for the number of days for approval and how that officer came up with that number?

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!
