DS 230

On question 20 it ask were is all the pplaces you have lived since reaching the age of 16 from and to. I put the date from in and to the present and have seen were someone got an RFE over this.

On question22 it ask to list all your employment for the last 10 years from and to. I put the from date in and to present.

Question is what do I put here because I do not want an RFE over this. Do I need to white this out and put the same date as the date signed. Because I am afraid it show she has moved somewere else if I do that.

We used "present" in the most recent entries for both questions.

I just seen that Rajaa Reda got an RFE over putting in the present here. I need to get this clarified before I send in my paperwork of the DS 230.

I did and it was fine. I think I wrote u on the other Forum....

The first time it was sent, since you can't type in present, when my husband sent it off, he forgot to write in the dates, so we got a RFE. But when he sent the RFE back, he just wrote the date to present and it was fine.

Then I am putting in the word present which I have already done

I got an RFE for this because we left it blank!!!!!!!

When I sent it back I put the date I was sending it back as the "To" date.....and it was accepted fine.

This whole thing with question 20 and 22 and Present and current month/year is giving me a tremendous tension headache since I started reading the conversation on the August thread this morning. I think we get overloaded with information here sometimes.

I called my lawyer who has submitted many DS230s before and her recomendation was to use the month/date the application was signed. She also said Present was fine. Actually, here is exaclty what she said:

"No worries. I understand that this is a very stressful process. The date as of the signature is proper and correct. If you feel better entering “Present,” go ahead and do that. Either way, it is read as, “Until the date the form was completed.”

Well it is better to bring it up and get it defined so none of us get an RFE which would give me a headachce again dealing with one

I guess "present " or current or future date would be fine ...they got to look at couple and their relationship than these dates ......and giving them RFE.....

I guess even if you leave "blank " they should accept it lol ...since no one can predict future LOL

I have ask this question and i filled out is as follows.

Line 20 on DS230: 16 years of age till now <year and month he turned 16 to PRESENT>

Line 22 Present

That's what i wrote on my papers.

it does because I found out today on the long list of thread responses that is what most people put. So you should have no issues with it. I am sure glad we are on the home stretch sort of speak about all this #######. It seems like my life has been on hold for over a year. Oh sorry that is because it has been on hold

Phillip, make sure you keep annoying the lawyer to let you know when they received the bills. Also, keep calling NVC next week about getting the status of your case and when they have sent the bills to the lawyer. This would help you alot.
