We have shared everything but gum.

The toothbrush was only because he needed one and I had mine on me, but no big deal.

Neither one of us chews gum very often, but the idea is still not a pleasant one.

Hubby's culture is very taboo about stuff like that(the concept is 'jutho' or impurity) - I think among old school Nepali Hindus even husband and wife don't share things like this but we feed each other from the same fork/spoon all the time, drink from the same bottle or glass, shared a towel when we were trekking(saves space) but I would draw the line at sharing a toothbrush for all the reasons given unless for some reason we only had one - ditto for gum. i only chew it in KTM if the clerk at the store has run out of 1 Rs pieces and gives me a piece of gum for change anyway - here I almost never chew gum.

We share drinks from a bottle all the time.

We feed each other from our chopsticks all the time.

I would share a napkin if a new one wasn't available.

I don't like wet towels, so I would share one only if there was only one available.

Toothbrush, only in an emergency.

I don't chew gum at all, so no.

I've always found it bizarre that my husband won't share a toothbrush with me and in fact gets his panties in a wad when I accidentally use his. I mean, he and his sister, he and I, and his sister and I have shared lollipops for Christ's sake.

We also only have one toothbrush.

Wow! :o I wouldn't think that would be such a good idea.

How come?

More likely to catch a cold or the flu that way. Also, if your partner has cold sores...more likely to get them.

Yeah, I guess so. We don't share if we're sick. Then again, we try not to kiss either if we're sick.

So who decides to go without brushing during those times? lol I guess you have a back up hiding somewhere eh?

I am a germaphobe... dont ask why any of the other choices are viewed differently than a toothbrush, but the thought grosses me out lol anything else, yep we'd share.. toothbrush, in an utter emergency.

lollipops dont reach between teeth and grab junk that has been sitting there festering (germaphobe visualization LOL)

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

All except the gum...but only because the flavor'd probably be gone by the time I got it.

I'd share a toothbrush if we couldn't find one of ours, but not generally.
