My husband has chewed my gum. I only chew gum for a minute or so- I get TMJ if I chew too much. Stuff like that doesn't bother him- he says there is nothing gross about me. Kinda sweet I guess.

We also only have one toothbrush.

Wow! :o I wouldn't think that would be such a good idea.

How come?

More likely to catch a cold or the flu that way. Also, if your partner has cold sores...more likely to get them.

Yeah, I guess so. We don't share if we're sick. Then again, we try not to kiss either if we're sick.

We also only have one toothbrush.

Really? You only have one toothbrush and you both share it? Why is that? Why don't you each have your own toothbrushes?

I would share anything but the gum and the napkin (because some people blow their noses in their napkins and I'd be worried about that).

We have shared our toothbrush when we travelled and I forgot mine.

Would share all except: Toothbrush and gum(usually)

Sujeet was accidentally using my toothbrush a little while ago after I opened new toothbrushes and let him pick his color(hehe) he picked a blue-ish color and I took purple. There were other colors too. Well to me purple is obviously girly.I was noticing my toothbrush being pretty wet after he was in there brushing his teeth but it didn't click at first. But he ended up using it for days and once I finally saw him do it. I said "Woah! That's my toothbrush, yours is the blue-ish one!" He swore he had picked purple and I said no way, you picked the boy color. He couldn't understand why purple has to be a girly color and did not remember picking blue. So we've done it, but I don't really like to. I also think the gum thing is a little icky. Not that I would absolutely not do that, but I wouldn't really wish to. I guess the idea of things digging into each other's teeth and then sharing those little treasures isn't appealing to me. :P

Well, TBH, we had two until I discovered that he was just using whichever one he felt like that day. I figured it was easier to just have one than to try to hide mine from him, especially since after I thought about it I don't particularly care. :)

For a few weeks, I chastised him, "No! The pink one is MINE!", but it was just too much trouble.

Most of my family is OCD, so they would be absolutely appalled!

I'm sure this will come as no surprise, but we have. You know, laundry day and whatnot.

Everything. Any other answer would seem like hypocrisy.

;)

Hipocrisy seems like a strange word.... why would I want hubster's old chewed up gum? It's not a germ issue, but a I-tend-not-to-enjoy-anything-that's-been-chewed-up-by-someone-else issue.

My intention then is that your answer would be "yes". Like I said, it's not something that comes up, but in the hypothetical situation, would you?

The only time I could see it happening is if say he had just put a piece of gum in his mouth and I felt I really needed a piece of minty gum say after a meal and he didn't have any other pieces. I MIGHT ask for half of his piece. But I'm really thinking more along the lines of if he'd been chewing on a piece of steak, would I want to chew on that after he had...no. I don't want anything that's been already chewed up. Like I said, it's not about the germs....

About the toothbrush concerns - if your SO has dental issues, those can be passed along through kissing and stuff anyway. What we did was just both get good dental care, and practice good dental hygiene (floss, peroxide, etc). We both have good teeth and gums now.

We share just about everything (that is tangible/visible). Clothes, personal care items, email accounts, food, whatever. He's worn everything of mine except bras, underwear, and some shoes (he can put on things like my sandals). I've worn everything of his, I think. Other than him stretching my socks and flattening the backs of my slippers, I love that we can share clothes and stuff.

We're not carbon copies of each other though - we still have our differences.
