Hi!

Our case seems to be frozen at NVC! We both lived in Paris, but in August, when our CR-1 was approved, I moved back to Portugal and my husband to the US. NVC assigned our case to the Paris embassy, so we had to change it to Portugal. That was on the the beguinnig of September. The case is: we were able to send the Choice of agent, pay the fee online and send our I-184, BUT we can't pay the $400 fee/send the DS-230 stuff! Every day we check it, and the fee wasn't generated yet. Is this normal when you change the embassy??

We are really sad, because we want this nightmare to end, and I want to spend Christmas with my American...

Thank you, and lots of luck!!!:

Have you called and spoken to someone in person? I don't see what a change of embassy has to do with the bill not being generated.

This is the EXACT same thing that is happening to me!!! I didn't change embassies, though, so I don't think that has anything to do with it.

My DS-3032 was accepted on October 3rd, exactly one week ago now...and NOTHING. I have called every day and they tell me that I need to be patient, that this is common, that there is nothing they can do because everything is automated, that they have 2-4 weeks to generate it.

I am FURIOUS!! I cannot believe there is nothing they can do. We could have had a November interview had I been able to send the DS-230 this Monday...it was my last hope. And that hope has been taken away by some stupid computer system! Grrr...

Oh, and to add to all of this, my DS-3032 was accepted AGAIN yesterday (I was sending e-mails until I got an auto-response)!!! I would have thought maybe this would jumpstart the system...but I checked and...NADA!

May I ask when your DS-3032 was accepted E-Migra?

Best of luck to you. Here's hoping that you get out of this NVC black hole soon!

It does take a while for them to transfer between Embassies, could be up to a month. It did take my IV bill to be generated almost a month once I inquired about changing my status. My option is that once you change or do an update to something it can take up to a month for them to do all the required documentation.

Be Patient, its coming!!

Good Luck!

Sadly this does sound normal, from what I've seen. Two other members in our August approvals thread requested embassy changes, and no other processing was done on their cases until the embassy change was approved and new case numbers were assigned.
