i just want some advice.

i live only an 8 hour drive from my husband who is a US citizen.

he is coming to visit me in 2 weeks and then he wants me to come back to the USA with him and stay for 3 weeks.

(he will drive me back the 4th of july long weekend)

and then i am planning to go visit him again at the end of july for 2 or 3 weeks.

is this okay?

is there a certain amount of time that i have to stay in canada until i go visit him again?

or will 2 weeks be long enough?

how long can i visit there, anyways?

3 weeks, correct?

You can visit as often as you like... as long as they don't turn you away at the POE. I believe the maximum length of stay cannot be longer than six months, but I'm sure someone will be along to provide that information.

Filed: K-3 Visa Country: Canada
Timeline

Hi there!

My wife is american and she was out here (Canada) for 3 weeks last April to visit. We figured that the only option was for her to visit here since we have a visa pending also.

On her return back, she asked the US customs agent at the Ottawa ON airport, if it was possible for me to go visit, and explained our situation. He said that there would be no problem, as long as I can provide proof that I will return. example: proof of employment, return plane ticket... etc... He had even confirmed with his supervisor. I have not tried to cross as of yet though.

Canadians can stay in the US for up to 6 months per year/per visit, even if you have a visa petition in with your name on it, or a visa application in.

If you're travelling together they may make it a bit difficult for you to cross, so make sure you have lots of evidence with you that you will most definitely be returning to Canada when you say you will. This of course is not definite, even with proof of ties, you can still be denied entry. But a denial will not negatively affect your visa application.

divorced - April 2010 moved back to Ontario May 2010 and surrendered green card

PLEASE DO NOT PRIVATE MESSAGE ME OR EMAIL ME. I HAVE NO IDEA ABOUT CURRENT US IMMIGRATION PROCEDURES!!!!!

hi, thanks for the reply.

i am SO worried about this all.

especially because we are travelling together.

i called the border that we are crossing last week and the woman told me that they generally do not have a problem with it, as long as i am not going there to live.

so i guess i just have to prove that to them.

we are bringing our I-130 & I-129 receipts, my rental agreement, marriage certificate and my bank statements.

i do not have a job at the time, but i am helping my sis-in-law with her business.

we will see what happens, i want to visit my husband SO badly.

i will post back in this thread next week to tell you how it all went.

wish me luck!
