I am quoting this post although it's a little old because I just spend the last 20 minutes looking for it, and I thought it might be helpful for those who recently have gotten their NOA2s and will be calling NVC soon to get their reference numbers and the date it was forwarded. Since my package left on the 25th, if I did the formula thing right, it looks like there was a package delivered on the 27th and signed by O ALBENO at 10:14am!!!! My fiance and I emailed them on Saturday so hopefully they will respond to us today since it appears they already have the package!!!!

Amazing research!! Thanks... you are wonderful. I still feel like I want to throw up.

Thank you so much for this info. I must admit didn't think it would work and sure enough it did receive by Dominican Consulate Feb. 23,2009 my only question is how do I know it's my paper work and not some one else's?

Also, there is a way to semi-track your package on DHL by reference number once you know it has been shipped out.

How can i track the package?

It is kind-of a guesstimation.

Actually, Johan & Anne are wonderful!!!! I just quoted it, but it was really helpful to me!

I know how you feel! :dead: I am super nervous, just last night I was attempting to put together the notebook for his interview, but there is so much up in the air still with the dates. It will work out perfectly if the interview is during the 9th-19th of April, but I am scared it will be before and I will have to mail the originals which I DO NOT want to do - I just want to take them with me when I go. The mail is so insecure and I cannot afford to lose the originals!

If you are sure of the date that your's was sent out, then it is definitely your's. It is possible that there could be more than one petition going to the DR at that time, but all of them would together.

edit: forgot to ask you if you sent him the original of your birth certificate or does he just need his???

Only his original BC is required.

Anne, I was putting together stuff for the interview and it looks like Johan needs the originals of everything that you sent in copies of with the original I-129F packet in case they ask for them at the interview. I guess that would be everything except if you sent copies of your passport he doesn't need to have your passport at the interview, but I am arranging a notebook to take to the interview. Let me know what you think, guys:

List of contents

Section I: I-129F packet with originals

  • copy of entire I-129F packet
  • original birth certificate (Chelsea)
  • original divorce decree (Chelsea)
  • original order for name change (Chelsea)
  • original boarding passes
  • original letter from Josue to Chelsea

Section II: I-134 Affidavit of Support with supporting evidence

  • I-134 (2 pages)
  • letter from boss on company letterhead
  • paystubs: Jan 09, Feb 09, (will also include) Mar 09 (couldn't find Dec 08 :o )
  • Tax Transcripts 2006, 2007, 2008
  • bank deposits for year 2008 (maybe, haven't talked to bank yet to see if possible - not 100% needed)

Section III: Evidence of Ongoing Relationship

  • boarding passes from visit in Dec 08
  • boarding passes from visit in april 09
  • copy of Chelsea's passport - visa pages
  • phone logs Aug 08-present
  • chat logs yahoo messenger (don't have too many of these as we always use yahoo phone calls and rarely write - anyone think this will be a problem?)
  • a few screenshots from yahoo messenger at different dates (don't have too many of these either)
  • stamps from Josue's letters to Chelsea

I am also making a scrapbook with pictures (but this won't fit in the 3ring binder) from our 2 visits and depending on when the interview date is, I may make some premade pages and leave room for pics for our 3rd visit in April and just print out the pics down there...haven't decided yet.

Section IV: Interview Requirements

  • NOA1 original
  • NOA2 original
  • interview letter
  • police records - Josue
  • criminal records - Josue
  • original Birth Certificate - Josue
  • updated letters of intent - Josue & Chelsea
  • medical results (in a sealed envelope, I guess I will stick it in the back pocket of the notebook)

Any suggestions? I'm so nervous!

original birth certificate (Chelsea)

I believe this is uncessary, as you had already established the legal citizenship of the Petitioner back at USCIS with either a copy of your birth certificate, passport, etc. No need to send this, or even a copy (though I had inadvertently did with the I-129F duplicate), as a Cosulate Officer shall not ask your fiancé to prove your American citizenship.

NOA1 original

NOA2 original

Unless Consulate-specific, they are asked for, I am unaware of the beneficiary needing to produce the original of these, though I do understand the value in having a copy at least, and I do recall an aditional copy being required for AOS.

The rest of the list is very much aligned with mine, as well as other filers, minding that there are some Consulate specific nuances. How close are you to having it ready to send?

With Grace ours shall be ready in about three weeks time, so we can send immediately to the Consulate. An interview date sometime in April would work for us, and then it's just waiting till the summer to see each other. This very well could be the best summer vacation I have ever had.

Oh, I did not think that the consulate needed my original birth certificate. Precisely for the reason that Thaitousa

stated. Also, it was not listed in the "Interview" checklist from the consulate. Hmmm. I guess I will double check

on that one.

I know that the NOA2 is required for the consulate. But again, it was my understanding that only a copy is

needed. I know that a copy is also needed for AOS. I have read on VJ that if for example you lose your

NOA2 it is very expensive to get a "new" original from USCIS.

Also, I know that the civil surgeon made a copy of Johan's vaccination record so that we can use it for aos, so

that is something to consider when the medical is done.

I have read, and I wish I had a link for you all, that the CO can ask for any of the originals of things sent in as copies with the I-129F packet. I had written on my birth certificate, name change order (I changed my name before the divorce went through to get my passport, start a new school year as my maiden name, etc.) and divorce decree the whole blurb about "This is a copy and I can provide the original if requested by any CO or official" or whatever.

NOA1 original

NOA2 original

Unless Consulate-specific, they are asked for, I am unaware of the beneficiary needing to produce the original of these, though I do understand the value in having a copy at least, and I do recall an aditional copy being required for AOS.

With Grace ours shall be ready in about three weeks time, so we can send immediately to the Consulate. An interview date sometime in April would work for us, and then it's just waiting till the summer to see each other. This very well could be the best summer vacation I have ever had.

As far as this, my plan is to compile the notebook and bring it over with me when I go April 9th. So technically I have about 5 weeks, but really the only thing lacking is getting the tax transcripts from the IRS, which should be here in about a week, and the letter from my boss. The bank thing I may not even worry about, but I probably will print the March statement of my savings account, only because I'm putting how much I have on the I-134.

The embassy emailed Josue today and told him that the interview would probably be in May or June. Bummer, I'd really love for him to come back with me April 19th. Which is why I just wrote (with the help of Josue's native Spanish) an email BEGGING and PLEADING with them to schedule an appointment during the week of the 13-17, as the 9th and 10th they are closed for holiday. If not, it was worth a shot. But we emailed them Saturday and heard back today right around 4-ish, so hopefully they will get back with us soon. Who knows, maybe they'll surprise us with their "compassion." If not, like you said, ThaitoUSA, at least we'll be together for summer. This will definitely be the best summer vacation I've ever had...with a close second being last summer when I met him and fell head-over-heels in love!

I'm not sure, everywhere I look it just says "birth certificate," doesn't say anything about whose. I hope you are assuming safely, I just thought better safe than sorry since I have seen that the originals need to be provided at the interview.

Thanks for the heads up on the vaccination record! Hadn't thought about asking for a separate copy, I just imagined we would get the results after the interview. Good idea, because you do need that for AOS.

I need a help,please...

When we filled out our I129 application form, I was in the US and gave the USCIS my address in the US. Now I noticed that I did not provide the USCIS with my address in Brazil. Do you know if I should notify the USCIS of my address in Brazil? I know that they are first going to contact my fiance to let us know of the second NOA and I am wondering if at that time he can give them my address in Brazil.

The only time that Josue's address has come up was today in the email from the Embassy when we confirmed to what address they are going to send the packet. Once you get to that step I'm sure an email will take care of it.
