No pets at the moment but am gonna get plenty when I get to the US!

Like others earlier I too found some good prices with Delta, £278 return London Heathrow to Atlanta (direct). With Delta you can also book your seat when you book. That's a prerequisit of mine when I fly alone. I think that was the only flight to Atlanta that allowed me to do that.

Laura, where do you like to sit when you travel alone? I just don't like sitting in between people I don't know, but I will take either a end seat or an aisle seat.

My fiancée did not receive her Valentine's Day package by Friday as I had anticipated!! She just got it this morning, and as it turns out, it had arrived at her school on Friday but some clerical error prevented it from being given to her. At least it was no fault of my own!

As a side note, she intends to bring her dog with her, as she loves the thing and realizes that no one in Thailand is going to take care of it like she has. Are any of you bringing pets along for the ride?

We have adopted a kitten here in Nicaragua. I am working with a Vet to do all the vaccinations and he happens to be a lawyer too. I will let you know when I find out more but there is info on the embassy web site about traveling with pets. I know you need proof of medical updates and you pay a little extra on the flight for the pet.

I always book an aisle seat as I'm usually up and down to the toilet as I drink so much water on flights. I suffer a bit from claustraphobia so aisle seats are better. I also booked my seat for April away from the toilets as I had a panic attack on my last flight because I was sat next to the toilets and there were too many people crowding me.

Tom just called USCIS to change his address and decided to ask about our case, see if it had been assigned. Shows you why they call it the mis-information line. This is what he said ''after a runaround and telling me the same stuff we already know, she was saying VT service center is now processing April 2008 applications, I was like #######. And when I asked if it got assigned to an officer, got the same runaround.'' I read they just quote the website at you.

What a surprise. Nice to know they're so not helpful. I guess people would be calling all the time and they would never get any work done, but you would think it would just be easier and take less time to say yes or no instead of explaining why they can't really answer you. Oh well. I don't speak French, but...C'est la vie, right? Just looking for some updates today!

I prefer aisle seats too! I hate the thought of being stuck in the row :dead: because I get claustraphobic also!

I did get lucky on one flight from sweden and got an aisle exit row seat :)

Yeah, he thought he might as well ask, kill two birds with one stone. I think what annoyed him was he'd been trying since last Thursday to contact them (USCIS's military helpline for change of base info) but the office kept shutting early and because of the holiday. He totally forgot it was a holiday yesterday as they don't get them off where he is.

I fly quite frequently myself and I prefer window seats on longer flights as I don't tend to get up too often (most times I am asleep before the plane backs away from the gate). I've also learned to try and fly mid-week transatlantic. Flights usually are not as crowded and sometimes I can get the gate agent to reassign me so that I have an empty seat next to me. Makes such a huge difference, especially on the overnight flights when you can really stretch out.

Now if Delta would only hurry up and install the new seating on transatlantic flights, I'd be very happy.

Unfortunately I just can't seem to fall asleep on planes, but those seats do look comfy. My problem is I tend to get bored easily on long haul flights. But As long as I have a good choice of movies, a good book and my ipod I'm usually OK. Tom got me a DS for Christmas so I'm sure that will keep me entertained for at least a couple of hours.

Oh and did anyone notice the new poverty guidlines have just come out? http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/I-864P.pdf

I did notice that! Wow 6 or 7 would be good...or 9 or 10 would be good too like CSC was doing earlier this year. http://cse.ssl.berkeley.edu/igor/vjdata/stats.aspx

I have to keep reminding myself that not every petition that they see belongs to someone registered with VJ. Hence why I move up and then move down grrr I hate that! Go VSC! :star:
