What a lame Friday...only one approval? :crying:

I've been away from my computer all day and I was hoping for some updates by this evening :(

I just saw someone that got approved today, the 14, a Saturday from Vermont and they got their first NOA2 around November 14...

weird... yet hoping we get approved soooooooon! G-d willing

Yea I did notice that. Nice 3 month approval for them on the dot! Anyone know if they're open Monday or not? Every day counts!!!

Edit to say I forgot I asked this last night in a new topic: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...p;#entry2653662

Looks like they'll probably be closed :(

Hi every one,

I registered on VJ last month and only just discovered the October thread! We received our NOA1 on 10/14/08, so I'm getting slightly excited. I hope we hear something soon, but I'm also worried we'll be on of those couples that are kept waiting for months, without any particular reason. Fingers crossed for everyone, we all know how awful it is to be apart from the one you love and you don't even know for how long.

I also have a question, or would like to hear your thoughts about something: I would really like to go and visit my fiance in the States. Is that possible while you have a visa application pending? I have studied in the States on a student visa (during which time I met my boyfriend/now fiance). After the studies were over, I returned on a visa waiver, for just under 90 days. I went back home for 2 weeks and then returned on a visa waiver again. I was already nervous about that, because eventhough there's no official rule about how many times you can visit on a waiver, you obviously can't keep traveling in and out of the country all of the time. So, my fear was a little justified, as the officer saw I was returning on a visa waiver for the second time after only being out of the country for two weeks. I was sent to secondary inspection (a horrible place, I felt like a criminal almost) and they just ran a check on me and then said it was ok and I could travel on (phew). However, they told me to stay out of the country for as long as I had been in it, before returning on a waiver.

I left the USA on July 12th 2008, so more than 7 months ago. I would like to go back over there early April for a week or two, to have a look at wedding venues, apartments, etc., and of course to see my guy, who I miss terribly. I've never overstayed any visa or anything like that, but somehow (after my last experience) I'm a little worried about going back while the K1 is pending. What do you say when they ask you what you're doing there? Do they see you have a visa pending? I've read stories about people being refused if they say they're visiting their boyfriend/fiance.

Is a return ticket enough proof that you're not there to stay (yet)? I also have a job I need to be back for, maybe that helps?

Fall 2006 Met eachother regularly, but were both too shy to make any first steps

Yeah, maybe it's better to just wait for the visa, I'm too worried that something goes wrong and that it will jeopardize our whole future together. I just can't stand being apart from him and it's only a 6 hour flight... Oh well, maybe we get approved soon, if only that was the case!!

First off, welcome to the Oct thread!

You should be okay as you were not denied entry on your last visit and its been a while. Having a return ticket and proof of going back (not to mention the expense of filing to begin to do things legally) with you should be enough. It just really depends on the immigration officer at that time, but I'd say odds are more favorable that you should be alright.

Who knows though, by April you may be looking forward to your interview though if VSC keeps the pace moving  . We can only hope.

Hello and welcome to the group! ;)

Yes it is possible to travel, but can be a big challenge. You absolutely have to have ties to your country with you when traveling during the process of your K1 They might not ask (which I doubt), but at least you'll have it if they ask. So I would strongly suggest a letter from your employer showing that you are expected back at work, your lease or mortgage if applicable, etc.

I would also expect to be questioned, because of of what you said...but it has been 7months so I wouldn't be worried about it too much, just something I'd keep in mind! Hope it helps...Good luck!

I'm going to visit Tom in April, hopefully I'll have approval by then so plan on showing them the NOA2, my return ticket and a letter from my boss. When I visited back in August I didn't have anything only a return ticket but they let me through OK. I think it just depends on POE and whether they are in a good mood or not lol. If you are only going for a couple of weeks you should be ok, they might be more overly concerned if you were going for the full 90 days.

Yes, depending on when you file AOS you (or whoever gest to it first) can create a "July 09 AOS Filers" or something like that forum. As much as I like all of you in this forum, I would be ok with moving on lol. Just hoping for lots of approvals tomorrow!
