My fiance and I planned our wedding back in June for January 04, 2009 ... we had no clue we needed to apply for a fiance visa, we just thought that if he got a B1/B2 Visa came over on that and got married... he went to the consulate in late August but they told him he had applied for the wrong Visa.... to make a long story short, due to our ignorance in this whole process we had to cancel that jan 04 date and filed for the K-1 as soon as we got the news we needed it...we also had to wait till I became naturalized which happen the last day of September. Then we finally filed in October... now, we are just basically waiting for this to come through as soon as the L-rd wills to get married. Nothing worse than having your hopes up, setting a wedding date, having everything planned and then it crashes.... in the end it was a good thing, although this process is lengthy it's better doing it the right way then the wrong way IMO.

Hope we see more petitions for October this week! Praying to G-d it happens ;)

How come you are waiting for an RFE?

Because I was soooooo stupid and didn't put enough evidence that we met inperson within the last 2 years. All we put was the birth certificates of our daughters. I don't know what I was thinking....I worked in the immigration field up to the birth of my last daughter, so I KNOW what immigration wants to see....I really don't know where my head was at...lol I think it was the lack of sleep...LOL

I'm so glad i can laugh about it now, cause I was soooo pissed off about it....still am sometimes.

I would have thought having kids together would be proof of having met! But if you have all the info ready for if an RFE does arrive then you can have it turned round pretty quicky.

I would imagine that she probably forgot something in their original application...the same happened with me, but I'm thinking there is a possibility they may not send an RFE. I forgot to put a separate letter from my fiance with the intent to marry, but it is now on its way via snail mail in case we need it we can send it right away. Depending on who the adjucator is I guess we may not get an RFE and they may use mine to suffice. There was another girl on here who was expecting an RFE for something, had it all ready, and did indeed get an RFE but for something else. You never can exactly tell!

Well that's what everyone would think...everyone BUT immigration....the problem is that a piece of paper doesn't prove the paternity...anyone can sign it...for that reason, it is not enough evidence...but maybe we'll get lucky. But yeah I have everything ready and waiting: passport stamps of our trip to the Bahamas, pictures, e-mails relating to the time we spent together, and I also have a line-up of people (all USCs) willing to write affidavits to testify that they saw us together....We'll see what happens. I'm just mad at the fact that an RFE will slow us down, and unlike you, I'd move there today if I could! I already sold my apartment and moving in 2 weeks (an aquaintance was willing to pay a VERY good price for it so I couldn't wait) and raising 2 babies alone is tough!

I just can't wait for us to live as a family! We're all in the same boat (minus the kids maybe!) so I know I don't have to explain...that's what I love about VJ!

Like you, I would go straight away if I could but unfortunately there's lots of things keeping me here until September.

I have no doubt about that Laura I just meant that I don't have anything holding me here now. I hope that's how you understood it :)
