hello all K1 octoberians! i received our NOA1 on oct.1st. good luck to everyone. Take care and God bless.

We received our NOA1 on Oct. 1st also. I'm not much of a poster, I like to read them, but I wanted to say good luck to you also. I never imagined the wait would affect my finacee and me like it is now because we're so anxious. It's very difficult not knowing when. It's the first thing we talk about each and every day. Both of us are praying to get the NOA2 by the middle of March. We had planned last year for an April wedding but I think that's not possible now. Maybe May.

It sure would be nice to get some movement soon. I've been looking at some of the approved petitions, and it looks like there's an average of 157 days from NOA1 to NOA2. Now depending on whether or not you are at the beginning or the end of October, this puts you somewhere in March. A little early would be nice! Either way, I'm hoping they keep up with whatever they're doing up there - finally approving 6-8 K1s per day, and I guess this doesn't include any who have received an RFE.

Some October approvals would be more than welcome anytime soon!

Exactly! If VSC could just be a bit more consistent each week with approvals then IMHO I don't think it would be as gut wrenching...

I agree. None of the approvals have come in strict sequential order. Instead they have been in batches that seem to span a 2-3 week time period. Its all going to come down to where each of our files were placed and which box gets grabbed.

I think the chances are good that we'll see a good portion of Oct filers approved in Feb.

Hope so, I'm getting bugged alot to when the wedding is. Argh!

Same here. Has anyone started planning? I am tempted to start but feel unsure. I wonder if it is safe to start planning once you have your NOA2?

I am planning to leave the UK the middle of September and we hope to have the wedding on the 10th October 2009. I'm confident that is plenty of time. We are booking the chapel when I go to the US in April, luckily being a military chapel it will be free so if we have to change the date we won't lose any money.

I'm sure it's safe to organise things like dresses, flowers, suits, invite design and rings etc. I'm making a lot of things myself, that way I can do things at my own pace.

i have started my wedding preps but it will be a big church wedding back in my home country philippines. i have booked my church, reception venue, caterer and other stuff and this will still be years from now oct 2010. i am just so excited and while i am still in the philippine i am scouting and booking wedding suppliers. For those people who are wondering i will also have my civil wedding as soon as i get in usa and then will be traveling back sometime 2010 for my church wedding. my civil wedding will be really simple and would go for it just to follow the k1 rule of getting married not more than 90 days upon entry.

Hope so, I'm getting bugged alot to when the wedding is. Argh!

That would be great! Of course I don't understand that whole system. I understand that there are a lot that go in, out, processed, need RFEs, etc., but why can't they just start from point A in order by date received? I just imagine a huge file cabinet that opens from both ends - the one end is the one they are working on now and the other end is where they put the incoming petitions.

I just don't understand how the dates can range so much. Now granted, this would not allow for any surprises but those are just flukes anyway. IMHO I think it would be easier if we had a set date to look forward to. Either way, that's not how they do it, and even if one day they come to their senses HOPEFULLY we will be way past done with them and this whole process. That will be a relief. Let's all keep our finger's crossed that they'll start with October in the next week or two! It'd be good if I could get an approval email around the same time I get my tax refund - days of bliss :P

We are planning on doing the 'courthouse' wedding as soon as she gets here, but the formal wedding is planned back in the UK this coming November. Just need to make sure we have the AOS in place before then, but I think we should be good time wise.

We were hoping for arrival by mid-July for a wedding soon after. We'll see when these NOA2's start coming in if that's still possible.

One enormous factor is that the speed of the adjudicator could vary quite widely. Some could go through a single box in half the time as others. So we both pick up October boxes, but you are a week behind me in picking it up and you are going to still be working while I've moved on to the next box. Government contract jobs. Someone please search for the want ad for USCIS offfice in Vermont. I was tempted to apply there after my fiancee gets here and give three years of service to ensuring higher quality work. I would be willing to do that to help other families.

All the best.

One word = Government

I work for the British Government, I know about these things all too well and there's sometimes (only sometimes) a valid reason.

Not a bad idea! I know since I'm not in there I don't understand, but jeez! I sure wish they could move their tushes a little faster! Looking on the bright side, if they continue at the rate they've been going the past week we'll be looking at March for sure, IMO.
