One thing that I have noticed is the the VJ timelines adjusts according to what date you send your petition and not when you received your NOA1. This makes our timeline (and everyone elses) misleading. We sent our petition on September 25th and it took longer to get to Vermont as it was posted from overseas. The NOA1 was then issued three weeks later. To test this I changed my sent date to a couple of days before our NOA1 was sent to reflect if Tom had sent it within the US and it pulled our date forwards by about two weeks (mid feb). I then put my sent date back to what it was and changed my NOA1 date and the estimated approval date stayed the same as it is at the moment (mid march).

I definately don't trust the timelines now.

I agree. VSC doesn't care when you sent it - only when they received it and when its entered into their system. Like you discovered, the data here on VJ goes by the sent date, that's why I broke it down starting at the NOA1 date. But even then, that could also be misleading as I'm sure some people may inadvertently enter their received date and not the official date on the notice. That alone could skew the date by weeks.

Still, I am not knocking VJ at all. I think its a great tool for estimating and I applaud the hard work someone put in to program it. Would be nice if you could set your own parameters however on the estimates. This is why I created my own.

Turns out the person at the top of Igor's list entered their NOA2 date as being approved in 2009 instead of 2008. I never noticed before.

Am planning for a late August/early September wedding. We are lucky in that we can book the chapel and cancel with no cost if plans change.

We are planning a simple legal ceremony as soon as she gets here, but planning on a formal ceremony next November back at the lake district in the UK. Already have the church, venue, and she has her dress. Just the minor things still yet to get (like a visa for example) ;-)

We are planning on Sept 09 for our wedding in North Carolina. It is definitly easier for me to plan it here. I would like to have a small wedding, and hoping at least some of his family will be able to come. But, just incase when I go over in Feb we are going to have an engagement dinner so everyone can come.

With August filers receiving NOA2 at this time, it won't be long before we start getting them.

I like Captain Ewok's idea to graph the percentage of VJer's who have received NOA2 month-by-month.

Though it seems like our plans have flip-flopped, I shall unlikely go to have a ceremony in Thailand and return here with her. I do not think that money is everything, but $7,000 is $7,000 and if she is going to be unemployeed for several months, it would be wise to have a little extra money just in case.

So it seems as though I won't be seeing her again until around July 13, 2009. So to all October filers, you can be grateful that most of you will likely be reunited sometime before then.

It's a shame you can't see each other before then. Least you know the next time you will see each other you won't be apart again.

We were but that was shortly after our NOA1 and cheque was cashed so I don't really think that counts. I'm not really expecting it until my approval gets closer.
