I'll be spending my christmas here with my family in the philippines and still missing my fiance. I spent the past xmas in usa wherein my last xmas i was working as a chef in a hotel on christmas eve and was so bored at worked. i remember when i got home my fiance was already sleeping hahaha that was my 1st christmas to celebrate with him (he was my boyfriend at that time.)

And i remember spending my 1st new year's eve together and i was so mad because i wasn't able to see the fireworks at downtown baltimore coz we got stuck in traffic for leaving late coz he was playing poker with his friends.

I am not excited for this holiday but is looking forward for the coming january coz i think that i can already receive noa2 anytime soon

I feel the same way. Christmas may not be so great because my honey bun isn't here but a NOA2 would be a great early Valentines day gift!

So who is visiting their fiance(e) at Christmas? And for those that are not spending Christmas together physically, are you planning to spend some of it together it in some other way?

There's no way we can see each other this year however Tom has the night of Christmas Eve off, and as he's only three hours ahead of me, we are probably going to have an early present opening on Skype. He will be then working the night of Christmas Day so we'll probably only get to email each other.

We will not be able to be together either. We will definitely be wishing each other Merry Christmas on Skype. I have to work and he will be spending his last Christmas before he moves to the US with his family. I will be traveling over in Feb though. I get two weeks off and I will be in the UK. I can't wait!! While there one of our friends will be doing our engagement photos and we will be having an engagement dinner with his family and our friends.

I'm going to be with my fiance for christmas, but only because we got lucky!

We weren't supposed to see eachother untill next summer, but he checked out the ticket prizes for fun and it turned out that it was cheaper than expected, so he ordered a ticket and he is going to stay here for around 16 days before he returns..

I can't lie and say im not happy :)

LUCKY!

How you been Shanira, Ms. August Filer at heart?

Indeed :)

I'm fine thanks, just annoyed that i still can't check my status on their website and follow my case, but i have patience and hope it will be fixed soon :)

So is there any August approvals?

7/31/2008 - Sended I-129F to VSC (lost in mail).

9/24/2008 - Resended I-129F to VSC (*sigh* lost again).

10/30/2008 - Resended again I-129F to VSC.

11/11/2008 - NOA1

03/09/2009 - RFE received

03/11/2009 - Returned RFE

05/23/2009 - Recieved 2nd RFE

08/05/2009 - Denied. Besides that he turns out to be a total jerk. Case ended.

What the heck has happened to the timelines? Mine has just jumped back well into March!

EDIT - I think I know why. Someone who got there NOA1 in April has just been approved at VSC. That's probably what shifted them. They'll probably shift back once more July/August filers are approved.

I think I can answer my own question. Someone who filed in April just got their NOA2 so that probably shifted all the timelines. Once more July/August filers are approved the timelines should shift back.

Sorry about the mutiple posts, I'm having some troubles lol. I wanted to add that actually they were approved back in July. Why have they only just updated their timeline now? By doing that have they messed up the timelines for everyone else?

This is one reason why I am not trusting the expected dates on our timeline page. I went back and tracked the historical averages for those who filed in their NOA2 dates. I poured through lots of data and it seems like the magic number appears around 90-105 days which would put us in the Jan/Feb timeframe for October. As of today, ours is at day 57 since the NOA1 date.

Of course, time will tell if I am right or not (hoping that I am!!)

Here is my data in case anyone wants to know - the green fields are our dates and you should be able to enter your own date for comparison.

Please note, this is just an exercise in my own boredom and uses only the data available. Please do plan on these dates as I cannot speak for its accuracy since its based on others input.

One thing that I have noticed is the the VJ timelines adjusts according to what date you send your petition and not when you received your NOA1. This makes our timeline (and everyone elses) misleading. We sent our petition on September 25th and it took longer to get to Vermont as it was posted from overseas. The NOA1 was then issued three weeks later. To test this I changed my sent date to a couple of days before our NOA1 was sent to reflect if Tom had sent it within the US and it pulled our date forwards by about two weeks (mid feb). I then put my sent date back to what it was and changed my NOA1 date and the estimated approval date stayed the same as it is at the moment (mid march).

I definately don't trust the timelines now.
