Just a quick update, though most of you probably see my facebook. Everything is well. Hopefully I'll be getting the keys to my new place soon, I'm really excited about that. I have also been seeing someone from work for about a month. It's a bit strange going from a long distance relationship, where you are used to being on your own a lot, to seeing someone nearly everyday but I'm slowly getting used to it. He knows all about what happened with Tom and the visa and he's ok about it.

I haven't spoken to Tom for a month or so but as far as I am aware he has settled in fine in Alabama, however talking to some friends he does seem to have cut himself off from all his friends in the UK.

Hope all of you are doing well.

Good to hear that all of you are doing fine.

She'll be coming on July 3rd as well Dusseldorf. I am very happy and counting down the days.

I already began the AOS paperwork and it seems quite simple. I think the visa journey is coming to an end and though immigration journey continues, the primary journey shall be the two of us together. It's been nearly five years, three of which were apart, and I believe we are prepared for the challenges and the joys of this new path in our journey.

All the best

I dont post too often here but do check and see how all the Oct 08 filers are making out ... and glad to see that there is a light at the end of the tunnel...

Anya and I are getting closer !! We got tired of waiting for the Turkish Embassy in Tashkent to come up with her Police Cert ... 8 weeks and counting. Last weekend Anya went to Ankara and got the Polic Cert / Judical Record Herself - it took approximately 2 to 3 hours once she got there ! ! !

She is back in Tashkent safely and has an Appointment at the US Embassy on Tuesday 30 June 2009 !! We are Hopin and Praying this is the last piece of paper required for the K1-Visa !! Please God Help Us !

Our Best to All !

That made my day Charles! Not so much that you are almost there, as I understand and am happy for that too. Rather that Anya would make the trip to do what needed to be done.

Two years ago my fiancée visited America on a student visa while she studied in Boston for 3 weeks. I got to see her there one weekend and she came down to see me another weekend. After that, I was confident and comfortable asking her to get married and live here, though we had been together 3 years at that point. Well, I mention this story to share an eposide where the US Consulate in Chiang Mai would not accept her passport due to some wear and tear. The Consulate officer informed her she'd need to get a new passport, but she had less than a week till her departure date, perhaps about four days. So she drove all the way to Bangkok about 12 hours away, got the new Thai passport issued in a day, after some helpful phone calls were made. She turned around that night and drove back up to Chiang Mai, got the visa the next morning and headed home, which is about five hours from Chiang Mai. In a day or so she drove back down to Bangkok to depart on the flight. I knew then and there this lady's commitment and care; I already had loved her, but at that moment my love for her increased.

I see the same love in your case.

Thanks ThaitoUSA for sharing your fiancee's adventure too ! and Yes I agree we are two very luckly guys to have committed ladies like this in our lives. Anya and I have only been together for two years now and We believe this K1 process has taught Us allot about each other, and although it is sometimes not a pleasant process it has helped Us develop a Deeper Relationship and Love for Our future together.

So the Good News is the US Embassy accepted the Turkish Police / Judical Record !! and took her passport !! and they told Anya to come back this Thursday 2 July to pick up her passport ... ? with the Visa in it We Hope and Pray ? !! We think we are almost there now !!

(backround : On 05-05-09 CO requested Turkish Police Cert. Filed for TPC same day 05-05-09 at Turkish Embassy in Tashkent. Anyway .....

Happy Independence Day for "US" !!

We Cant believe it took NINE Months but We are SOOOOOO Happy !

Thanks to God ! and of course the Oct 08 Filers for all the Support and Positive Comments ! and Still Hoping and Praying for those still waiting - Keep the Faith " !!

You will do fine but it is hard not to worry. It is so exciting to hear that everyone is moving along and beginning their lives as couples. We are deep in the AOS process but things are moving along nicely. I miss this thread. I have fond memories of sitting in the Nicaraguan heat and reading and posting on VJ. Congrats and Good Luck to all!!
