Well, I am off to the airport in a few minutes to head to the UK. We have our interview at the embassy on Monday then we'll spend the next 2 weeks packing and traveling back to the US on 29 May through Atlanta. Wish us luck!

Wow that's great!!! wish you guys all the best for the interview and the move!!

**WHEW!!** We had our interview yesterday in London and are all approved!!! All that drama and waiting for a few basic questions. Felt a bit anti-climatic really. LOL

Now we are packing waiting for the visa to arrive in a few days and head back to the US for good on 29 May!

And that was quick - we just got the text msg saying the courier would be here with the visa tommorow! whoo hoo!

That is crazy! What happened?

Our wedding is this weekend. I am about to head to the airport to pick up family. I have checked in a few times but I have been so busy. Congrats to all that has seen movement and I will all others patience for the rest of their journeys.

Back to AOS once the wedding is over. I have had Bride head for weeks. I miss the VJ daily dialogue.

What do you mean??? That's not possible! Don't get down - if you have the I-797 in hand "Approval Notice" then you are approved...of course, that's just the petition. Then it goes to NVC then to the consulate/embassy in your country. Can you explain more what he said?

Packet 3 is what the embassy or consulate will send you when they will get your file. It includes some forms you need to fill out and direction on the papers you need to present at the interview. Also provides instruction to get medical exam done. I read here on VJ that some embassies don't send anything and you have to do everything online. If you haven't already, you should look at the embassy info for your country....there should be the info you need. Good luck and congrats on the approval!!

We're still waiting for an interview date. It's been over a month, and they just released the new interview schedule through June 20th and we're not on it. I emailed the embassy, they confirmed they have received our Packet 3 and told us to wait our turn. There is still a possibility that we shall get an interview before June 20th. We're wondering whether the wedding shall happen on our scheduled date or whether it will happen at all this summer. Of course we're confident that everything shall work out, just perhaps not precisely as we've planned.

Though I am very excited to see her, my biggest concern is for our wedding guests; the friends and family whom I have invited but also warned "Don't book your tickets just yet, because this process is a bit unpredictable." They've all followed my advice, yet I really want to come through for them by having it on that date and for all of them to be there.

My father said, "What I don't like is how they can make you wait and wait indefinitely, but they only give you 90 days to marry from entering the US. How can they expect you to make all those plans in such a short time period?" I didn't tell my father that the beneficiary may wait upto six months before leaving for America, but even then nine months isn't much time in the scheme of wedding planning: Some couples plan two years out and this is less than a year.

That's what I get for marrying a foreign wife! Of course she's worth every single moment of it and I've found this process to strengthen our relationship significantly. Oh, as an aside, I graduated from Johns Hopkins two nights ago. It felt great to wrap up and fitting to move from a Bachelor to a Master, thus making me eligible to wed. Once she gets here and settled in, we'll both probably start our Ph.D.'s together. Mr. & Mrs. Doctor Doctor.

Hey sorry i havent responded untill now.

My fiance called them and they just said that we weren't approved in their system. dunno what is going on.

we received a new RFE today - they want more evidence.. So we will just submit same pictures plus add a few that we didnt send last time plus his boarding passes and passport stamps.. i hope thats enough cuz we don't really have more (we didnt knew 1 year ago that we would file for k-1, so we didnt take plenty of pictures, we have around 15-20 from june/july 2008).

We'll follow the instructions and send the evidence back, the man that my fiance talked with told him that we would get approved/denied before 15th of june cuz we have waited so long etc.. (hes coming here 18th of june:) )

ill keep you updated :)

The thing is, the embassy is in the third country and god, it's one of the worst I have ever seen. It doesn't provide any information and all I can do is to search for the answers on forums. They also don't answer my emails and calls. Still no interview date either

Good news is that the Bangkok embassy has begun to issue interviews again. We've yet to get our confirmation but we're praying it'll come soon. So long as we get it within a month, we should be right on schedule for our summer wedding. My fiancée is feeling an enormous amount of stress over the wait and I've been doing my best to encourage her; we're so close now, the hardest longest part is already done.

Are there any October filers still awaiting NOA2, or have we all made it?

That sounds like good news. I hope they get their act together. Thanks for keeping us posted.

I just checked Igor's list and there are only 15 entries left for October...not bad. Not sure what the status is with people that have posted here. I think that most are moving forward.

We technically never received our NOA2, but we have married and are about to apply for AOS. I called USCIS on Monday to ask again why we did not receive our NOA2. I excepted them to tell me that I had to pay for a replacement but instead they said they would send me another copy. I was so relieved. I noticed that my petition was approved and mailed on a Sunday...March 1st. When I asked about this they said they have contractors that work on Sundays...interesting.

Wish me luck with the AOS. I posted a shout out to AOS for June 2009 if anyone else is filing in June. Any feedback from other Oct filers...how is the AOS coming?

Well, I'm back. It's been a busy few weeks, but Cris got the visa and we have made the reservations to get her to Houston. :dancing:

I hope those of you still held up in the system get approved and things get moving for you.

Hey thats fantastic news!!! Well done!!! I know what a huge task it was getting all the forms filled in and documents together etc... I should be out late August if everything goes according to plan. Should be having interview sometime in July, hopefully!!! Keep well and glad this part of the visa journey is over for you... not long until Cris is there and you can tackle things together !! M x
