Just checking up on how the October filers are doing.

Laura - Sorry to hear about you and Tom. For what it's worth, I think you're making a very mature and sensible decision. Emigrating and getting married is a huge thing, especially when there aren't any other options, and even though we've had our own share of problems with coming to terms with that, I completely understand why you feel it's best to wait.

Beans - Glad they found your petition, what happened was RIDICULOUS!

Gemmie, Tom and I are no longer together. A whole multitude of things caused it. Being so long apart caused us to drift apart and, since arriving back in the US Tom became a different person. He was no longer committed to making the relationship work and needs to grow up and get his priorities right before even considering entering another relationship. We mutually ended it but I miss him and still love him to an extent but he caused me a lot of hurt with his behaviour which I can't forget.

I'm glad to say that I am getting on with life, the new apartment is giving me something to look forward to and things are picking up at work.

They counteroffered but with something we were still happy with! We are closing on the house May 28th.

Visa Journey update: still waiting on marriage certificate to be able to file AOS. Haven't filled out the paperwork yet so even when it comes it will probably still be a week or two to send it in.

Glad to hear you are moving on. That's healthy for you. If you can salvage your relationship that would be great, but you both need to do what is mutually best.

We are simply calendar watching now. I'm flying over just before the interview so that I can be there and then help pack and we can fly back together. We have also decided to "elope" to the Florida keys a few weeks after we get back and get married there.

Cris has her interview in a few weeks. The consulate in Rio does not send a packet 3, so I have downloaded all the form on thier list and am about ready to send her all the forms and supporting documents.

I was wondering if anyone who has had an interview already could tell me how did you put the forms together? Did you staple the individual pages of each form? Did you put the forms into some kind of binder?

We simply stapled the each form and included them all in an envelope along with the checklist. We didn't put them in a binder like we did for the original petition but will be taking copies to the interview just in case.

I think I may put something into the envelope to stiffen it because of the DS-156 or which ever that says not to fold it.

While I'm at it, I guess I should call or email the consulate. They have two lists, one with the forms and documents required and another showing what order they want the documents in. There is one form on the list of required forms (a DS-230 (Part I only)) and it is not on the list which shows the order to put them in. Oh well.

We put all the stuff we thought they might ask for as far as supporting evidence, originals from the I-129F packet, etc. in clear plastic sleeves in a 3-ring binder, and then put all the stuff they specifically said in packet 4 to bring in a manila folder, multiple-page documents stapled but duplicates paper-clipped together. (such as the DS-156 and 157 were 3 and 2 pages respectively, we stapled those together but they wanted 2 copies of each so we clipped them together)

As far as the house, there's only 1 bathroom As Josue says at least there is a fan in the bathroom for the bad smells hahaha

I havent been on VJ much lately since Johan arrived and we had our civil ceremony

plus I am finishing final exams and working alot..Booooring! I plan on being back on the thread more

now though I am not looking forward to the AOS process.....

I just dropping by to say hello to my 1st family!

All is well here...packet 3 is at the consulate and I'll be waiting for my interview. Seems that things are picking up so we're planning a mid-August move, July interview! The forms for me were weird to fill out because of the kids...anyone else with dual citizen children??

Well congrats to all the newlyweds, new home owners, and all of you who have great things happening. Laura, I hope your life will be bright and you'lll find love again. Enjoy your new appartment!! Should I say flat?
