Good Luck everyone!! We are thinking about you Chelsea...Wow just felt butterflies a flash back to my interview. I know you will do fine!

I am starting the AOS process. I may have a few questions soon so I hope this thread shifts to the AOS, EAD, AP topic because you have all been so wonderful.

We are planning our wedding for the 23rd of May and I am super excited. We have our marriage license but they made a few spelling mistakes...can you believe. I wish I could do all my own paperwork.

Please keep us up to date about the interviews. Thanks for posting KristinL it has been so quiet.

Hopefully we can all jump into the same AOS thread, I know I'm usually quiet, but I love my October filing family - we've got a long way to go still - I hope we can stay together :)(F)

maybe October Vermont K-1 filers AOS Thread? Is that confusing

Due to several factors, my fiancée shall not return Packet 3 until this Thursday. We are praying for a swift scheduling of an interview. It is quickly approaching July, our planned emmigration and wedding month and we would like to begin purchasing, booking, and confirming. I am a bit concerned with all the violence currently occurring in Bangkok, but I am confident that my fiancée shall be able to take care of everything regardless.

The minister was unavailable on July 25th, so we shall have the wedding on July 26th. Some relatives have informed us that they will be unable to make it, so the final tally may be around 15; I was hoping for a small wedding.

Needless to say I have a bit to prepare before then, yet my fiancée has a ton to do. She's got to pack and move everything out of her apartment, put in her retirement, collect her pension, get the plane tickets, get a passport for her dog (I am a bit apprehensive about taking on this wild little beast, but she loves her too much for me to say 'no.') I keep telling her to hammer away at the things she can get done now, so she isn't overwhelmed in the weeks prior to travel.

If everyone is agreeable to moving to the AOS thread, we can perhaps migrate as each of us moves into that phase. We'll likely be there around August. Some of you shall have a headstart and I would greatly appreciate any wisdom/advice you could pass on as we prepare.

Take care everyone. May your journey be joyful.

We now have the Visa in hand!!!!!

The interview went great, other than watiting to actually be called to the window. Our appt was for 8am, we arrived around 5:30am - the driver we had hired thought there was going to be more traffic. Even arriving so early, we were #6 in line in the immigrant visa section. Around 7:45am a man came around looking for 8am appointments and we were the first with an 8am appointment, so then we got to be #1 in line. We then entered the building and waited to be called. At 9:05am we were called to window #6 and a Guatemalan woman took Josue's passport and all the papers - DS-156, -157, birth certificate, police records, etc. We then went back to waiting, and close to 10am an American woman called us to window #7. Josue had to raise his right hand and swear to tell the truth and that everything written in the papers were true and then took his fingerprints (digital). Then she asked in Spanish how we met, but she looked straight at me. I said in English "Do you want me to answer?" She said "Sure" so I answered in English. Then she asked him if he spoke English, and he said "a little" so she just started talking to me in English hahaha. She never even asked him anything else. She asked how we communicate when I am in the US, how I learned Spanish, and asked to see some pictures. I had an album that didn't fit beneath the window, so I showed her through the window and stopped every couple pictures, explaining what was going on, she said "Can you go a little faster?" lol. For the communication part, I had phone records but didn't show them to her - but I told her what service I use (Jajah) and she asked if we had emails. I showed her just a screenshot of Yahoo Messenger chats that showed different dates with the two of us talking. She said she was glad I was there to talk to her in English - she didn't seem very sure of her Spanish.

Then she wrote on a piece of paper Tuesday 3:30 to come pick up the K1 visa. I asked if it was at all possible to get it earlier since Pana is 3 hours in bus from the Embassy, she said there was no way because of the processing it took to print. I asked for the original of my divorce decree since it was the only one I have and didn't want any problems with getting married here. I gave her a copy, she wrote "Original" something-or-other on the copy and gave me my original back.

He returned today to get it - they called all who had sheets to pick up passports in at one time, then called him by name to give him his passport & the envelope to take to the POE. We are very tired - him even more because he had an extra 6 hours in bus today, but we are happy and are now searching for tickets.

Those who haven't yet had their interview, I think it made a difference because I went and I recommend it if it is at all possible for you. Of the maybe 20 or so that we waited with yesterday, only about 7 entered to pick up their passports today. We were well prepared - our embassy didn't even ask for proof like photos but we are very glad we brought them anyway. You should be fine as long as all the paperwork is in order and you have a real relationship, as I know all of you here in the Oct forum do.

Thank you for all the support, sorry I kept some of you waiting lol. We are very happy and will be returning to the US on Sunday...together!!!!
