Does anyone know the timeline for NVC with an approved K1? What exactly entails the so called "additional processing"?

My fiancee and I have a wedding date set, within a small window of time my nephew graduates from us army bootcamp, and my family reunion.

The approved petition has been with NVC since 03/09/2009

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Hello everyone, I just want to share my happiness with you, we've been approved!!!, we got our NOA2 in the mail on wednesday :dance::dance::dance: Now that we've been approved, what s the next step? just to wait for my fiance to receive the packet 3 from his embassy? Or should I be sending the copy of the original I-129 Package along with the I-134 with the supporting documents, originals.... since now? I ve been reading too much about this lately, im gettin confused. :blink: Good luck to those who are still waiting for their NOA2, just be patient and stay positive.

Firsty congrats!!

You can contact NVC to see if they have received the case from USCIS and sent it on to the Embassy. You will have to select the option to speak to an operator as K-1's are not in the automated system.

In the mean time your fiance can look on the embassy website to see what forms and documents they need to complete for packet 3 (if the embassy sends a p3, not all do). You can also visit this link, and scroll to the bottom http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...mp;page=k1guide

That's all I can think of at the moment, someone else might have some more info.

Sometimes it can be at NVC a day, a week or longer. It depends on whether they need to do any additional checks. I think the longest I have seen was 7 weeks.

There has been a recently increase in Visa Journey members going through AP at NVC. Generally it is performed if some red flag, such as a name similar to a criminal's, or a previous crimal record, comes up. Some VJ members suggest there has been some change in policy in the past 3 months that x% of cases are to be held for AP for no reason other than to do so; the average is about 12% of current VJ members.

The average time it stays at NVC for AP is about 52 days. There is a separate thread for those stuck here:

Congratulations Glenmarc, on your NOA2!

As soon as we received our NOA2 notice, I had my fiancee call the approved medical clinic and schedule her medical exam. This involved a lot of travel (18 hours roundtrip by train) a long wait at the clinic, but we were very happy when the exam was successfully completed.

Additionally, I had asked her to make translations of her birth certificate and police certificate in advance .

I DID NOT WAIT FOR "PACKET 3".

Waiting = torture! :girlwerewolf2xn:

Waiting = torture!

Only if you in a state of Desire. Unfulfilled wants shall always lead to frustration and suffering i.e. the principles of Buddhism. If you accept where you are and what is happening, life is serene. Gotta wait? Ok, no problem. Got accepted? Ok, fine. Acceptance allows for a wider range of choices and generally leads to greater success in all endeavors.

Can't change the situation, only the way one perceives it.

Ahhh yes.. I agree with you and I'm at peace with the universe. Just like to vent a little through the emoticon. (never used them before but they're kinda cute.)

I talk to my sweetheart several hours each day and more on weekends, so it's like we're together (in spirit anywhoo ).

Everything will be more awesome after the waiting is finally over.

I received a letter today from the visa center. It was letting me know that our petition was forwarded to London.

This is good news since I have been soooooo busy making wedding plans before I start my new job on Monday.

Question:

They are having a hard time finding Andrew's medical record to make sure he has had all of this shots. If they don't find it will he have to have all the shots done again??

Possibly. Though he may be able to have a titre test which will show what antibodies he has in his blood. It depends if the surgery does that and how much they may charge for it.

Actually, NVC voluntarily told me my petition is in "additional processing" is this the same as "Administrative processing"?

I have no criminal history. Only 2 traffic citations but it was many years ago:

One was for doing 72 mph in the fast lane (during rush hour in Los Angeles, I had a personal medical emergency) - Since this was my first ticket ever, I went to traffic school and had it removed.

The other was an expired inspection sticker 10 minutes ofter getting my car from storage on a U.S. Navy base after being on deployment for 9 months.

I explained to the civilian police officer, that I was on deployment fighting for our country but he told me to "take it up with the judge".

I was stupid enough to just pay the darn thing.

That may vary by location. In Jamaica, you can't have your medical exam until you have the paper with your official interview date (packet 4 there). But to make that medical exam shorter, since it will involve travel, I'm suggesting to my SO that he get his vaccines ahead of time at a local place.

Hello all!! Congrats on the new NOA2s :dance::dance:

On a side note, I urge all of you to call NVC as soon as possible especially is there are more than one consulate dealing with K1s in your country. I just called them and was told that our file was going to Vancouver because that is the only consulate in Canada dealing with K1s... that's BS!!!!! I'm in Montreal and the consulate here deals with it to. I was trying to tell the lady that she was wrong but she wouldn't hear it. So she finally went to check with someone and came back with the same answer!?!?!?!? WTH???? Dex is on the phone with them now cause I couldn't get a hold of them....always busy....but for some reason a USC got a line right away....interesting!!!!!! LOL

I REALLY don't want our file to go to Vancouver, cause I know it will be hell transfering it back to Montreal. For those of you who don't know, Vancouver is about a 6-7hour plane ride from here and very pricy :angry:

I'll keep you posted!
