Okay Winnifredbee!

How did it go? We are waiting! :D

Hello all! Thanks for all the support. Balvino and I are picking up our visa this Friday....We were Approved!!! Needless to say we are so excited. I purchased tickets for next Thursday. I still need to tell my family we are returning early.

I will write a more detailed review later but this is the basic outline:

We arrived and everything went smoothly. Everyone there was very nice especially the women that told us we were getting our visa. She laughed at our photos and laughed at Balvino, who could bearly write his own name he was so excited...I love him! During the entire process we talked to two people. The first women was not so nice. She asked to talk to Balvino alone and asked some questions that were normal. How old is your Fiancee...we have a 15 year difference and I know some people will have a problem with this. How long have you know her?, etc. But the one question that threw Balvino for a loop was ´Why didn´t you fall in love with a girl from Waspam? (where Balvino was born) Balvino said he didn´t want to answer. He just said ´I love my Fiancee´. When I returned to the window she asked me how do we communicate if I don´t speak Spanish. I do speak Spanish it is just not that good(now she is bashing my Spanish!). When I said we have a lot in common she rolled her eyes and said ´Like what?´ She was so full of attitude it really annoyed me. I had heard such nice things about the Embassy here. I have to say that we had good evidence. If this women had plans to suggest that we not pass we really made it difficult. Balvino and I have known each other for two and a half years and I have visited him and his family 9 times during the duration. To have someone judge us at the end of our long journey is frustrating, to say the least.

Sorry so long I guess I needed to vent and sorry about the typos I am not at my computer. I would love feedback about whether or not I am over reacting. Please ask questions if you have any. The evidence that seem to change the womens mind was the number of flights I had made to visit Balvino. So sleepy. Thanks guys! I am going to sleep on it but I may write a letter to the Embassy...after I have our visa:)

Yay! Congratulations!!

I do not think you are over-reacting, she has obviously never been in your (us VJers) shoes!

I would write the letter, I am a big fan of critical AND positive feedback letters. If

I was overseeing the embassy I would want feedback.

During one of my Hopkins' classes this evening, the professor had us write poems. I really love this prof; he's about 73 years old; had been teaching in Baltimore public schools for more than 30 years; and he's just full of life and love. He's one of my teachers who inspires me to teach.

He said gave us several writing prompts, but one was "Write a poem with math in it."

I'd like to share it here.

You plus me is more than us

Though we minus you is less than me.

How can that be?

Heartmath doesn't have fractions

And I'm not whole

Without you

A man two seats down copied it and said "Thanks man, I'm stealin' that one from you."

Winifredbee (sorry I don't know your real name!) you are not over reacting at all! But you are very smart to wait until the visa is in hand until you write that letter lol! I am happy for you that it went well, and don't worry about what other people say about your Spanish. Shoot, I teach it and I still make P L E N T Y of mistakes, so no worries!

ThaitoUSA, that is a very cute poem!

Today I got an email from my landlord that his mother wants my apartment (it is the basement to his hosue) so we have to be out by the summer. He has given us til August 1, but I'm really stressing out since Josue won't be working til probably Sept at the soonest and I've really had it made here with an apartment including most utilities. Also, since I have a dog it is harder to find a place to live. :( I'm just glad that Josue will hopefully be here in April and we can start looking together. :luv:

Hope everything is well for all.

Yay congrats winifredbee, I am so extremely happy for you. I agree with you being annoyed with the embassy, but do not take it too personal its their job to judge you not to be nice. Just concentrate on your fiancee coming home finally and get ready to spend the rest of your life with the man of your dreams. (F)(L)

I dont know about the signature thingy??? Did I have one before??? Ha Ha I am useless! Well lots been going on with me...my son graduated from the Army last Friday so I went to watch him which was great, and on Monday I met my biological father for the first time!! The last time he saw me I was three... as you can imagine it was a very emotional, however great day  !!! Nothing happening on the Visa front... Mike is remaining optimistic... however I am reading to much into the 6 month + gang and longer bless .... hoping we are not heading that way!!! It will be 6 months on the 1st of April... how appropriate April fools  Good to hear things are moving along for you, it will all work out in the end! I can understand Chris wanting to be there yesterday cause I am exactly the same!!! M x

Man and I thought I had a lot going on! Oh and about the being anxious thing . . . remember, we are the choir  !

The signature thing is that list most people have at the bottom of thier posts that shows the date of all the important milestones, like the date thier on the NOA1 and NOA2. I like to look at them now because I can get some idea of how long it's taking for the processing at NVC and how long it's taking the consulates to schedule the interviews. If you want to put that kind of info out here, give us a shout.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. I did not mean to be negative about the situation. Balvino and I are so excited and feel very lucky to have the process go so smoothly and quickly.

I have a pretty thick skin because I taught middle school for so many years. I do know when people cross the line of being unprofessional. The embassy has a job to investigate relationships but should not tell you who you should fall in love with or roll their eyes at customers. They should not bring their opinion into the process. I know our age difference is not a big deal and have meet so many people here on VJ in the same situation. Balvino is very conservative and I am a reformed party girl so he keeps me in check:)

It is amazing to hear about everything going on in everyones lives outside of the visa conquest. Good luck to all!! I hope to hear more good news today and tomorrow.

Hello everyone, I just want to share my happiness with you, we've been approved!!!, we got our NOA2 in the mail on wednesday :dance::dance: Now that we've been approved, what s the next step? just to wait for my fiance to receive the packet 3 from his embassy? Or should I be sending the copy of the original I-129 Package along with the I-134 with the supporting documents, originals.... since now? I ve been reading too much about this lately, im gettin confused. Good luck to those who are still waiting for their NOA2, just be patient and stay positive.
