A bit off topic but related to the college dorm comment; I am just wrapping up my electronic portfolio for Johns Hopkins. Each teacher in the Master's program must create an online portfolio that highlights your teaching ability and content knowledge. It includes uploading nearly 70 pieces of evidence to support your written essays. I just emailed the link to my advisor and shall wait to hear back. Hopefully there is little or nothing to change, as the deadline is tomorrow night and my presentation for it is in less than two weeks. Once this is done I just have about a month more of classes, albeit very light courseload, so really this is my last big assignment before graduation.

Wow! Congrats. I had no idea you had all that going on. You have been a very busy person. Good Luck with the professors. Thinking about going back to school for a second Masters or even a PHD. Living in Boston right now gives me a few options.

So I started a group and I can edit it so I need some feedback.

Chelsea you gotta get back on Facebook...for the group.

BTW Our interview is this Wed and Balvino is really freaking out. So funny since that has been my job for the past few months. He keeps going over the dates that we traveled together...as if we made it all up yesterday

OMG winifred, I didnt realize you had your interview already, How did you get it so fast? Good luck on your interview we will be praying for you.

I know it was super fast. The embassy here in Managua is really great they work with you on the dates. It also helped that the doctor Balvino called for the medical was like sure come in today at 2. We couldn't believe it...very lucky. If all goes well he will be on the flight with me on the 30th. Good Luck with the rest of your journey.

This is not a very good picture but this is my dress (I think) and shoes for my wedding. I say I think because I tried it on, it fit, but it was a little bit tight, so I ordered the next size up. It should arrive this week. If it doesn't fit then I'll have to keep looking (I can take it back)!!! Anyway, you can't see, but it's knee length. Also, the skirt is pretty flowy but you can't tell hanging on the coat hanger. Again, we're just going to the courthouse but I figure it'll be nice for pictures.

My fiancée called this morning while I was brushing my teeth. She informed me that she received Packet 3 from the embassy and my package containing the rest of the documents/evidence. Right now she's on an 11 hour overnight bus ride from her little town in the North down to Bangkok. She'll get in early tomorrow, go straight to the hospital for the medical and get the police certificate. I believe she intends to turn right around and take the next overnight bus back up. Hopefully we'll be able to mail Packet 3 back by early next week. I'm praying for an April interview date, but a feeling tells me it might be May.

Coming down to home stretch. Flying over, AOS, removing temporary conditions, etc. are nothing, since I'll have her by my side.

Wow 11 hours. Hopefully she'll get everything she needs.

Currently I'm still waiting for packet 3 and my police certificate, which I sent for last week.

Congratulations on the next steps..getting closer and closer on getting the visa.

Talking about wedding stuff ..i am all set for our courthouse wedding on the 16th of April which is our 2nd year anniversary. I got a simple white dress, shoes, the wedding rings, my parents on my side as my witness coz they will be flying with me to usa and we also have our marriage license already.

I am actually all set with my visa requirements and just finished the last requirement today which was attending that pre-departure seminar mandatory requirement for all Filipinos marrying a foreign national. I am just to relax and pamper myself...i rewarded myself a good spa treatment massage after the seminar since i am all set to leave on april 14. Just need to pack up my things and do a little shopping go to the salon and fly to Baltimore :star:

It is so great to see everyone moving forward. I do hope to see some more approvals for October...Nov is already past 50% but if I remember correctly the number of petitioners was much lower than Oct.

The Facebook group is at 7 members already it would be nice to have more. It may reach another audience and help newcomers. All members should be able to edit the info.

here here! lets get all the Oct. approvals. We've got a wait ahead of us still, as Montreal is a bit slow. It looks like they might be picking up steam a little, but I don't expect D to get his interview til late June /early July. We;ve already checked on his immunizations, getting everything ready to send packet 3 back ASAP. but in the mean time: I get to go and see him in 10 days! whoo hoo!

Well I got my Packet 3 today. Kind of anti-climatic as the UK one is just a letter with links on how to download the forms and book your medical.

laura, you are a nice girl for scanning that. i was curious about what the contents looked like. we got ours on friday (13 march), but it will be good for others who are still waiting.

is this 'packet 3' just for uk folks?

is it me or did anyone else have a hard time finding updated scans of the pertinent visa docs here on vj? im fairly visually oriented so its good to see what it looks like.

anyways, thanks. : )

That is a UK specific Packet 3 letter. Thailand's is quite different.

Nicaragua doesn't even have a packet three. Seems like an odd step. We just emailed with the Embassy directly once we received approval. Glad to see more progress.

oh, that sounds so simple!

uk filers can contact the embassy in london by email BUT only after calling them (on a phoneline that costs $2.50ish/minute!) to get a email code (that changes weekly!) so that you can email them. i think that is pretty awful and inefficient.
