October 08 K1 Filers

Hello all! For some reason, my computer won't allow me to post long posts so all i want to say is congrats to kaye who's gonna get the visa soon, and happy continuation to all

we are still waiting...very frustrating, and I don't want to have to join the 6months+ thread....we were supposed to be approved between Feb.27th and today according to our timeline....oh well....I know the day isn't over but nothing has happened in our file since Feb 27th..........

Someone with a NOA1 date of Dec 1st just got an NOA2 today. I hope we don't see a bunch of Dec approvals as those boxes start hitting the desks at VSC, but I guess the rest of us who are waiting are going to have to face the thought that it might start happening soon.

Kaye, Congrats! That's wonderful! Can you tell us what kind of questions they asked and if they kept any papers or just looked at them? Thanks!!!

Laura, I'm glad you will have some extra time to adjust. I wish the best for you and Tom, but don't forget us!!!!!

Anne, does Johan have everything ready for the interview tomorrow???

Josue is going for his medical today, he just left on the bus for the capital - he has to hide his money in his socks because it's dangerous It's a little scary but we minimized his trips, he is going today for the medical and to pay the $131 visa fee in the same day, then he doesn't have to go again except to pick me up on the 9th, then on the 13th we go together for the interview, then maybe on the 14th to pick up the visa, and then hopefully for the last time on the 19th to leave with me!!!! Everybody have a great day!!!

Yes he has all the papers ready!! Only annoying part is that you cannot bring in a bag into the embassy

or a cell phone-I understand it is for security reasons. And Johan can take them in a bag on the train to stockholm and then rent a locker to put his bag and cell phone in for the day.

It is just that we have spent the last

4 months guarding any and all visa papers with our lives making sure they dont get lost or

damaged so I dont like the idea of carrying them "by hand" to the embassy.

Isn't crazy how this process makes you so paranoid??

That would make all of us nervous so, have him take them in a bag he can toss when he gets there.

I was told about it in passing by someone on a forum about long distance relationships but never joined. Then I found it on a search engine when looking for more specific details.

WOW good for you!! I truly hope they will not make you wait like they do us. i wouldn't wish that kind of stress on anyone....

I have a feeling that we're in a box of someone who went on vacation....why work on it 2 days in a row, and then nothing at all for more than a week???? That's the only explanation I have.....good luck to all who are still waiting!

Thanks M, I'll keep my fingers crossed for all of us who are still waiting. Since we'll be in the same city once all this red tape BS is finished, maybe the four of us should hoist a couple some where.

Yeah, this process does make you hear those Darth Vader voices to come over to the dark side. I've had visions of our app falling behind a file cabinet or desk or something for a while now. Now that I know they haven't misplaced it (yet) I only have to worry about the other nightmare - the one about RFEs.

You're the half of the team from Canada right? If so, how do yo like Albany? I lived there for a while when I was in the Navy. I had an apartment on State St. with a view of Washington Park.

Is there anyone with the 2nd NOA received on March who knows if their case reached London Consulate already?

I got the NVC letter 2 days ago, called again today and was told it shipped on Mar 5. Doing the DHL Tracking in was received in London on Mar 9!!! Things really DO move faster once your case hits the State Dept.

I am flying over to the UK on Mar 27 for 12 days, and hoping we can do the medical while I'm there (gives a good excuse to spend some time in London together). At this pace, we are hoping to be together for good in late April / Early May!
