hello all...well it's been a week since our touches and still nothing...I'm with Dex in Albany right now and for the 1st time, I got a bit of a hard time at the border. they said that because of the K1, they have to track when I enter and leave the US. So I was fingerprinted and they took my picture, and stapled a little card in my passport that the canadian border people will have to return to them to show that I left the US/entered Canada. They of course asked questions about our relationship and what I do (I'm actually still on maternity leave and don't have a job to go back to, plus I sold my apt last month so really can't show any links to Canada....the question got me nervous!)

So here I am with the girls and Dex ready to look fabulous at Dex' cousins wedding tomorrow! At least the shoes I bought lifted my spirit! LOLOLOLOL I really can't wait to be here permanently. patience....patience...patience.........

Glad you made it through!! Which POE did you come through? Hopefully your NOA2 will show up while you're all together. Will you get to stay long?

I'm wondering if our NOA2 will be in the US when Tom gets to Montgomery. We weren't allowed to change his address with USCIS as he hadn't moved then so it will have taken a (hopefully) short detour to Bahrain. It'll be the same with the NVC letter. Doesn't the beneficiary get a copy of the NVC letter too?

In our case I received 2 copies  of the nvc letter. Johan did not receive anything from nvc.

Hi Everyone,

Just received our NOA2 hard-copy yesterday and it seems like our petition was sent directly to the consulate in Trinidad. Below is a partial quote from the letter.....

" The above petition has been approved, and forwarded to your consulate. Please contact the consulate with any questions about visa issuance, or if you would now like them to forward the petition to a different consulate."

Nowhere is there any mention of the National Visa Center within the letter. I've seen samples of the NOA2 on this site and they do specifically reference the NVC. Has anyone else received a similar NOA2? Maybe I missed it, but I can't remember seeing anyone else on VJ reporting this type of response in the NOA2.

Thanks.

Edit: After I looked at my NOA2, it says the same thing, that it has been forwarded to the consulate, but I know that it did go through NVC first. You still have to call NVC to see if it's been forwarded and you will still get a letter from NVC maybe next week sometime saying that it has been forwarded to the consulate.

Got a question about the I-134...I got copies from the IRS of my tax transcripts for 2006, 07, and 08. Only in 07, 08 did I meet the minimum requirements, and I still do at the same job. Do you think I should just leave 06 transcripts out? I've seen recomendations for 3 years, but what the embassy sent us was this:

2. Impuestos Federales (Formularios 1040 y W-2) Fotocopias de los impuestos federales pagados por su prometido(a) en los últimos dos años.

which says Federal Taxes (Forms 1040 & W-2) Photocopies of paid federal taxes by your fiance in the last 2 years.

Do you think I should even use the tax transcripts or just literally photocopy my 1040 and W-2 for 2007 and 2008???

After writing all this out, I feel like it's a dumb question with an obvious answer: forget the tax transcripts, just copy your 1040 & W-2 from 07 and 08, but opinions are welcome! (where's the smiley for pulling your hair out?!?!?)

Thanks DavChels. I'll call NVC and check.
