What date did you have your interview? How long have you been waiting? I certainly do not have a crystal ball that is tuned into the USCIS. In our case, wife's IO stated she should get her oath letter within two weeks, let five weeks go by with nothing, then started raising hell.

my interview was 4 weeks ago. what do you mean you raised hell after 5 weeks? they have a 120 wait i dont think theres room for hell before the 120 days. thats the thing they have they give you days in hundreds and make you wait inside them. why cant they just give days like 30 days or 60 days..why does it say 540 days on the notice of action.they should just get to the point and go by years. you have to wait blah blah years.

Well not too much hell, contacted my senators office and politely asked them to make an inquiry for me as the oath letter was promised within two weeks, just a couple of hours later, wife's oath letter was e-mailed to me, said I could print that out and use it. Now granted, if that statement was not made to my wife, will receive the oath letter within two weeks, would have no recourse but to wait the 120 days. But also learned from this site, that others at the same time as my wife's interview received their oath notices at the end of the interview, mentioned that to my senator's office as well.

Forgot that I received a phone call from St. Paul first with apologies, here is a copy of her e-mail:

"Dear Mr. NickD

Per our conversation attached please find Oath appointment letter for your wife, Gloria, which has been scheduled for September 3, 2008, check-in time is 8:30 a.m. ceremony will start at 9:00 and end at 9:30 am.

Appointment letter will also be send out via U.S. Mail.

If you have any questions, please contact me.

Thx.

Linda

Attachments"

This was on the Wednesday before, did get the original oath letter on Saturday, and the oath ceremony was on Tuesday. Wonder if we will still be waiting if I didn't make that call.

..

oh ok, i cant contact any one to help because i'm just going to wait like everyone. hey how about contacting the LORD? that should helep.

The Only state that you can take the oath the same day is: NJ.

Nope, Not only NJ, Texas as well. You can take the oath at the same day.

i have noticed that IOs give you a different answer everytime you ask why you havent gotten oath letter. I asked one and they said they do a decision on a case in 6 weeks of time frame but cana take 120 max, then you will be waiting for oath which could take another 120 days.

Why not? Call their office and ask them about getting an inquiry into your Naturalization application. They will send you a release form. Fill it out , let them know what you want to know, fax it back and wait. Usually you will hear something back asap. All they do is inquire about your file and what's going on.

could it be possible they get mad and deny me the citizenship overall due to me calling the congressman?

The possibilities are endless what they could do. I know a few people on here who have contacted their Senators office and have got responses and got results. NickD is one. There is a post above that states he contacted them and he got results quickly. I highly doubt they could deny you citizenship based on contacting your Senators office. I don't think they look at it that way. I am assuming that they are use to this, given that each senator has a special person assigned to dealing with issues like this. Remember they have to answer to somebody if an inquiry has been made. Out here in MN we have a lot of DFL reps that will eat the feds alive if they mess with the constituents.

Contact both, thought I posted the links for you already, can send an e-mail directly from their site, sent us a letter for permission to contact the USCIS in your behalf with information about your case and you get back contact information for the person handling your case. We went through all that for the I-751, for the oath letter, I just picked up the phone and called Rebeca, the person in charge and asked her to make an inquiry for us, three hours later, the oath letter was in my computer.

Rebeca told me she has contacts at the field office, and can call or e-mail them directly, something not available to the rest of us. We have to call that toll free number and speak to somebody that can only access the processing dates posted on the same website we can look at. What are you waiting for? Positive if I didn't call, wife would have not voted last week.

Shrek,

I can't tell you when to contact them. That's up to you when you want to contact them. If you think you have waited long enough then contact the senators office. You have two Senators contact either one of them. You should know who your Senators are and what they stand for on immigration issues. Of you don't know, use google and find them online. This is your file and your life take charge mate and get answers. The squeeky wheel gets the grease.
