Oops...Hillary Hits McCain For Using Her In Ayers Assault

We asked Hillary spokesperson Kathleen Strand for a comment on McCain's use of Hillary today to attack Obama over his association with Bill Ayers today, and she sent over a barbed response:

As Hillary Clinton has criss-crossed the country for Barack Obama, she has said to anyone who will listen that we can't trust John McCain and the Republicans to fix this economy and turn our country around. Funny, John McCain isn't using those words.

That's not bad: It hits McCain for not wanting to discuss the economy, in keeping with the Obama campaign's message.

McCain, incidentally, appears to be misrepresenting what Hillary said about Ayers during the primary in order to legitimize his smear. McCain said today that Hillary had asserted that Ayers "should" come up.

While Hillary did point to Ayers as something Obama might have to deal with in a general election, to the best of our knowledge, Hillary only said that Republicans would bring it up, and lamented that fact.

I'm surprised that the McCain campaign is pulling out all the stops on the smears at this point in the game (esp. after he said he didn't want any part of that stuff) - if I had to guess someone's internal poll numbers aren't giving them the result they were hoping for...

One man's "smear" is the foremost question asked by most.......Is Barack Obama being truthful about his radical left associations?

As a holder of a high level U.S. Government Security clearance I MUST dislose such associations, and supply "additional pages" of explanantion to minimize any doubts. Additionally, I must sit through an interview with an investigator.

Is Barack being as truthful? Did he fully dislose this relationaship? I don't think so..........

BTW, Hillary will have to line up behind Sean Hannity on FOX news that disclosed this assoiciation long before Hillary and hasn't stopped talking about since......

YOU have to do that, sure - but there isn't any such requirement for the presidency, for the simple reasons that you can't apply those principles to politicians - its a given that in that line of work that you will, more than likely, come into the orbit of some less than salubrious people during your career. Less scandal - more a fact of life.

If Obama was involved in a crime, however - this would be another matter.
