hey guys, i just hangged up after talking to grace coz i was doing a follow-up on my visa and she did say these exact words:

"MA'AM, WE USED TO DO DOCUMENT VERIFICATION BUT RIGHT NOW SINCE THERE HAS BEEN A LOT OF BACKLOGS, WE ARE NOW ASKING FOR THE ORIGINALS DIRECTLY FROM THE APPLICANT, THIS NOW INCLUDES THE MARRIAGE INDEX FROM IR1, CR1, K3 APPLICANTS"

dang..i guess some got lucky..

good afternoon. i'm glad other will not go through what we have gone through in relation to DV thing. how about us, the issuance of our visa should be in a matter of few days. i just want to ask you some questions if it's okey with you. who is grace? can we follow up on her about the visa? may i know how to contact her if we can follow up on her about the visa? i hope to get a reply from this inquiry. thanks very much. God bless you.

grace is an employee at USEM. it's actually her aswering the calls or lorraine. if you're the petitioner, you can reach them at (02) 301-2000 local 5184-5185. but if you're the beneficiary, they'd tell you to call the callcenter.

it's just sad to read about the current trend..

USEM doesn't seem to have a sturdy standpoint on the DV issue..

Some recent interviewee have been requested for DVs and marriage indeces with CDLI. It's still safe to be prepared and pay DV fees and provide CENMARs.

For the November and December applicants, don't leave anything to chance. The October applicants were lucky as the DV was waived due to the backlog. There are still lots of August and September applicants who still don't have their visas yet due to DV. Do note that the USEM is asking for more documents this time around even though these were not stated in the website. Even SLEC is asking for more documents. Read the recent posts.

Good luck to all of you! :)

yes, although they say there's no DV due to backlog, they are requiring more docs that are not stated on the requirements as if we are the one doing the DV ourselves. i think they require more docs just to verify the docs u gave which is basically the DV. i think if u have issues such as previous marriages/annulment, death, and issues w/ BC they will require more docs to verify it. so either way even u have everytihng like we did, they still wanted us to get recent copies---recent as after the interview.

why would i forget you guys, VJ PI people is like family to me already..

i'm enjoying every minute here, plus, it feels good to help others who are still going through the process although it pains me so much knowing there are lots of PI august and september peeps still waiting for their visas...makes me feel guilty on how i ranted few weeks back about not getting my visa right away..

but i really admire your patience guys (bevs, jose rizal ---just to name a few)..just hang in there, you'll get your good news soon..i know it's easy to say to just remain patient but we really don't have any choice..i myself never had one. you all will soon get through this phase and when that time comes, looking back will bring a smile on your face..
