Thank you ..

NOPE i wasn't asked for the DV neither was a couple of friends i met at the USEM during our interview last october 3rd..and neither was my friend who had her interview the other day! :unsure: same thing was said to her too..no DV, just originals were asked..i assume this is just temporary considering the inconsistency of USEM..

Yup. Let's not start celebrating news until it's officially announced. But this is welcome news to those who will are to be interviewed.

Now my question is if indeed it's true, what happens to those of us who are still waiting for the DV? Will our cases be expedited? That also remains to be seen. :blink:

i guess this lift is not retroactive..meaning those waitng for DV still has to wait for DV..

Did you pay for the DV prior to your interview?

yup, i did pay DV september 10.

i called delbros october 2, 2008 (a day before my interview). they said USEM has not forwarded any DV request on my behalf after they have reminded USEM through phone and email. i was already conditioning myself to receiving a WHITE SLIP considering a delay coz my DV since it has not been processed yet but i just got a PINK slip after my interview. i was asked to submit marriege index (to my surprise since i am on IR1 petition) and was then after asked to pay delbros for visa delivery.

THEY NEVER ASKED FOR MY METROBANK RECEIPT or even asked if i paid for DV or not..

Another question. Is your petition marriage based?

Ok, I have read here: http://travel.state.gov/visa/frvi/reciproc...ocity_3650.html

Document Services to Other Posts

Manila’s immigrant visa branch can assist other posts with obtaining secure official records from the National Statistics Office (NSO). This includes marriage index checks (certificate of marriage, certificate of no marriage), marriage certificates, birth certificates and death certificates. Embassy Manila will prepare the official request and it will be delivered to the NSO by our contracted courier. To cover fees charged by the NSO, the courier charges a small flat fee per person, not per document. Applicants can make payments at the courier’s service desk in Manila’s consular waiting area or by bank wire. Please contact the immigrant visa branch for more details.

If you notice, certificate of marriage is different from marriage certificate??? (since it was mentioned separately)

This is what I'm thinking (correct me anyone if i'm wrong)... certificate of marriage is like a cenomar wherein it says...

..... This is to certify that so and so is married to so and so on this date etc. etc...

Marriage certificate is the "usual" we know or formerly known as marriage contract, wherein the husband and wife signed the document...

^^ I want to find it myself, since this is new to me because the only document I know (aside from BC and MC) is that cenomar.... Problem is I need to wait for the letter from USEM, it's not easy for me to go to Manila/Makati every now and then.... though, I just live in Cavite (still, takes time to go there)...

@MJ3lasvegas

What exactly is the "marriage index" that you submitted during your interview? And how did you obtain it? The definition of what is marriage index and the difference between a certificate of marriage and marriage certiifcate is creating a lot of confusion for us here. Your reply will be greatly appreciated? Thanks a lot. :)
