Beneficiary's debts

Hello all!

I have everything ready for my interview now and only one more question (I'm really anxious and I've been worrying a lot about the interview) : I (beneficiary) have some credit card/bank debts that caused me to have bad credit, and that I can't start paying at the moment, since I've just graduated and I'm not working (I do plan on paying it off once I start working, so I don't screw up with my credit here in Brasil). I have read that this doesn't affect our visa but, being a pessimistic and a worrier, I would much appreciate if you guys here on VJ could confirm that information (specially if someone from Brasil has had the same experience).

Thanks a lot!

The consulate is not concerned with foreign citizen's debt, they are only concerned with petitioner (US Citizen's) ability to support the beneficiary.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

I don't see that being a problem in getting a visa.. You'll be fine...

They do not care about debts. All they want to know is that your spouse or your co-sponsor makes enough or not.

My husband had a lot of debts like student loans and credit card loans.

Nope, do not even worry about that. My husband makes above poverty line.

I have an interview in Tokyo, Japan. And the counsel really wanted tax return and W2 and recent pay stubs.

That's it. I brought a lot of documents.
