I hope it goes back up! I feel like I should've transferred over my money earlier now when it was almost equal!!

I hope that when I move it's not a huge different. That will SUCK.

I'm also planning a trip to shop Nov. 7th so I hope its not too drastically different!

I changed almost all of my money before I moved, BUT I am waiting for my pension pay-out which I requested a month ago when the dollar was $0.95. With the way the dollar is now I'm looking at losing another $1500 on the exchange rate. That's if the cheque arrives today. Who knows in a few more weeks.

That just bites...although I am happy because we are going to Montreal for 4 days leaving tomorrow!

When I paid off some stuff early summer (U.S. to CDN), and the exchange rate was about at par...when I think of it now I don't feel so good...

bleh!

I should have moved some of my US credit card bills to my Canadian account so I'd be making money on the exchange rate, now I'm losing out. Oh well. Buy things in Canada that are nearly par value before they change prices. You're getting at least a 10% discount off the bat if you shop in AB.

I was looking at a buying a few big ticket items and the US and Canadian price is par, but with the exchange difference I'm saving myself $200 if I bought it here opposed to down there. So there is some bright-side to this downturn in the conversion rate.

Oh, yeah? Cry me a river. I moved here when the Canadian dollar was worth 20% less than the American dollar. No wait. That should be me crying the river.

I moved here as well when the Canadian dollar was less. I lost quite an amount of money on the savings I had.

We were lucky. Mary moved a small amount of savings a year ago when it was in the mid .90's. Then the rest of it at 1.10. So we were ahead a little bit - but now we have to pay for the second reception for next spring so its back on our favor again.

Well there is both good and bad to this.

Sapphire, I know you have been together about as long as Scott and I; I remember when it was about 66 cents to the US dollar when I first starting visiting Scott and it was so amazing to me to be able to go up there and get such a huge discount on going out and everything!

Spirit, we are also headed to Montreal for a long weekend, so I kinda like it too! Plus we're planning our real wedding for Montreal and I'm thinking, maybe I can afford that caterer I thought I couldn't after all!

But, bigger picture, I prefer it when we are about equal.

ya, I cashed out my RRSP's when it was in the .60 cent range!! When I really didnt have to!! Why I did it?? no clue,lol mainly I was sick of filling one extra form for the IRS,lol one expensive form!! dont mentiuon that to my wife, she stil gets upset,lol
