DCF: Deadline to send Form 169 and document copies?

My I-130 application for my husband (based on our marriage) at the Buenos Aires (Argentina) US Consulate got approved. We received a package with Form 169, where it says my husband should complete the checklist and send them a copy of all applicable documents by mail. Also do the medical exams and criminal record checking, fill out sponsership form, etc. and after all that is ready they will schedule the interview.

Our question is: is there a deadline to send them form 169 checklist and all document copies, do the medical and everything else? Our concern is that it might take us a couple of months to get it all together.

And also, how are we supposed to send copies of our pictures? Just regular copies done on a copying machine or should we send actual duplicates of all photos?

I have sent them an e-mail (the only way of communication available) but they take sometime to reply.

Thanks you!

Most consulate will hold a case up to a year.

When in doubt contact the Immigrant Visa Unit: BuenosAires-IV@state.gov

Photos can be simple color prints on plain paper.

Thanks for your reply! As I said on my OP, I already sent them an e-mail, but decided to ask here because they usually take a couple of days to reply. But it's good to know that most consulates wait up to a year.

Regarding the photos, I think you did not understand my question. The consulate wants us to send by mail a COPY of every document that applies to our case, listed on Form 169, including our photos. And after that my husband is supposed to present the originals at his interview. My question is how do we make a copy of a photo? Just a regular copy as if it was a document, or do we have to send color print duplicates of all the photos? Thanks again!

Wow, only got one reply in 36 hours... why is that? Nobody knows how we are supposed to to send "copies" of photos to the consulate? Or is that a stupid question I am asking? Please help! Thanks!!!

Well, after searching a little further this forum using keyword "Argentina", I found a poster who sent color xerox copies of their photos and these were rejected. So he had to send actual color prints of the photos.

Since we have a million photos, I think we will send only about 15 of the best ones, and then my husband will bring all the albums to the interview.

So I guess I answered my own question... Thank you all, anyway.

I still don't know the deadline to send the copies of all the documents, including the envelop of the medical exam, criminal records, affidavit of sponsership, etc. I am waiting for an e-mail from the embassy on that.

Hey YUAndDan, the Consulate finally sent me an e-mail confirming that they hold cases open up to a year.

Thanks for your help!
